Thank you for waiting! IRON MAIDEN is finally coming to Japan for the first time in eight years. Here's a live album that's perfect for those preparations!! Well, we're really sorry to have kept you waiting. “THE BOOK OF SOULS WORLD TOUR 2016”, which started in late February, has already completed the first North American leg (8 performances) → South American leg (8 performances), and is currently in the middle of the second North American leg. However, despite having so many live shows, the recording situation is extremely cold. No, of course there are many recordings out there, but the quality is not good. Last year's VAN HALEN and last month's BLACK SABBATH are in stark contrast to almost all performances, where tremendous recordings were made repeatedly. Just because it's the latest tour doesn't mean it will come out in large quantities...This is also a strange part of recording. I want to deliver the wonderful world of the latest IRON MAIDEN as soon as possible, but I can't afford to let you hear the terrible sound. I was afraid that a good recording would not come out until the Japan performance...The one that put an end to those days of dilemma and impatience has finally been released. That's what this work is! The long-awaited masterpiece recording is an audience album containing “March 30, 2016 Madison Square Garden Performance”. Several recordings from this live show have already been released, but we have carefully selected the best-sounding master among them. For that reason, the quality of this work is excellent. This is a recording full of the scale of M.S.G., which is synonymous with huge arenas, and IRON MAIDEN penetrates straight through that atmosphere. The clarity of each of the three guitars being clearly visible, the transparency of each grain of the pounding bass, the high tones of Bruce Dickinson dominating the venue, and the spectacle created by the huge crowd chanting... The world of the latest “THE BOOK OF SOULS”, colored with such quality, is as grand as a blockbuster album. The bass of Steve Harris, who has already reached his 60th birthday, forms the framework, and the three guitars layer the riffs and melodies over and over again, creating a mass of regular MAIDEN clauses. In addition to the familiar classics, the new song ``THE BOOK OF SOULS'' reached a career high of 4th place in the United States, and even the new songs have plenty of choruses. Especially speaking of the spectacle of Harris's solo pen "The Red And The Black"... As expected, it is a large venue M.S.G. And even more amazing than that is the superhuman Dickinson. Although he is now 57 years old and even had cancer, he is not slowing down. As expected, in the early stages of the tour, there were some live performances that made you want to add lyrics such as ``for your age'' and ``even though you are recovering from an illness,'' but in this work, the 17th performance, you will fall in love with the singing voice in peak condition, which does not require any lyrics. Especially this time, "Children Of The Damned" and "Powerslave" are back after a long time. Because it's been a long time since I've heard it, I naturally start comparing it to what it was before, but it hasn't lost any of its flaws. In “Children Of The Damned”, the fresh high notes extend forever, and in “Powerslave”, he sings with a theatrical tone. Wow, for a normal person, just being able to overcome cancer and return to the field would have been a huge success, but I can't believe they would make me forget even that. Moreover, during that time, he acquired a large aircraft pilot's license for touring, expanded his business at an airplane maintenance company, and even started writing a solo album. And yet, running, stirring, this singing voice. It's a monster. Also, the reason why this tour feels both nostalgic and “slightly different” is in the encore. When it comes to IRON MAIDEN, it has been a long-standing tradition (though there are exceptions) to conclude with a festive revelry at either ``Sanctuary'' or ``Running Free.'' However, on this tour, the band will gradually build up excitement with the epic ballad “Blood Brothers” and then descend into “Wasted Years”. The grand finale was a big sing-along of melodies that penetrated the heart, and melodies that gave a feeling of soaring freedom. This gives a very fresh aftertaste (until now, most of the sets were from the beginning to the middle, so I couldn't help but feel like ``Now on!'' lol). Well, there are only two weeks left until IRON MAIDEN's first performance in Japan in eight years. I don't think this will be their last visit to Japan, but the standard for their activities is one tour for two years, and they are very popular all over the world. With the chances of coming to Japan steadily decreasing, I wonder how many more times Dickinson, who has suffered from a serious illness, or Harris, who has reached his 60s, will come. A preparation board to thoroughly enjoy this precious opportunity to your heart's content. Please enjoy this work to the fullest and reunite with IRON MAIDEN at Kokugikan!
