This excellent stereo soundboard recording captures a live performance in Switzerland in 1978, the year after the release of their debut album, "New Boots and Panties!!"! Ian Dury & the Blockheads were riding high after their single "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll" (released on the Stiff label) reached #3 in the UK charts and their debut album, "New Boots and Panties!!" (released in September 1977), reached #5 in the UK charts! This new release features a high-quality stereo soundboard recording of a live performance at the Volkshaus, a venue with a capacity of approximately 1,200 people, in Zurich, Switzerland, on October 29, 1978. Digitally transferred from a cassette tape recorded from an FM broadcast, the recording offers excellent mix and balance, providing a stable and clear sound quality. Any misalignment due to the master has been carefully corrected and remastered. The fade-in/out process in the middle of "Upminster Kid" and the latter half of the closing song "Sex & Drugs & Rock'n Roll" are a shame, but other than that, everything is perfect. The setlist is centered around numbers from the classic "New Boots and Panties!!," and includes the rare "Upminster Kid" from the Kilburn & High Roads era and "You're More Than Fair," a coupling track on the single "Sweet Gene Vincent."
