This nearly 1 hour and 26 minute recording captures the December 8th live performance in Dallas, Texas, from the 1974 North American tour of the five-piece band led by Hancock. The recording has been digitally remastered from a recently released audience master, and is a rare and precious recording never before available. While some parts are imperfect and warped due to age, the latest 2025 equipment has been used to correct pitch and reduce hiss, resulting in the best possible quality. This recording is from the tour following the release of "Head Hunters." From "Palm Grease" to the final track, "Chameleon," the performance is simply full-throttle, with no time to waste. Starting with the ultra-fast, high-energy "Sly," Paul Jackson's funky bass, Mike Clark's off-beat drumming, and Benny Maupin's razor-sharp saxophone create a powerful, all-consuming, and powerful groove.
