HELLOWEEN in 1996 built a second golden age with their two great albums “MASTER OF THE RINGS” and “THE TIME OF THE OATH”. The original recording that allows you to enjoy that live in Japan is a new excavation. What is infused into this work is the “September 29, 1996: Osaka Festival Hall” performance. It is an exquisite audience recording that vacuum-packs the whole story. HELLOWEEN has always been very popular in Japan since their first visit to Japan in 1987, but 1996 was the peak of their history. First of all, let’s look back at the whole story of that monumental tour and check the show’s position.・September 19th: Sendai Sunplaza ・September 20th: Niigata Terrsa ・September 21st: Akita City Cultural Center ・September 23rd: Hokkaido Welfare Pension Hall ・September 25th: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall ・September 26th: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall ・September 27th: Fukuoka Sun Palace ・September 29th: Osaka Festival Hall ←★This work★ ・September 30th: Kanagawa Kenmin Hall ・October 1st: Urawa City Cultural Center ・10 March 3rd: Akasaka BLITZ, October 4th: Akasaka BLITZ, October 5th: Tokyo Bay NK Hall.A total of 13 performances. It was a magnificent Japan tour that traversed the archipelago, from Hokkaido in the north to Fukuoka in the south. They have visited Japan 18 times so far, but the average number of live performances is 6.22. 1996 was not only the year with the highest number of performances, but it was also literally the peak of their time, performing more than two live shows in a single visit to Japan. Of course, the center was in the Kanto region, which occupied the last five performances, but the Osaka performance of this work was just before entering the Kanto region. It was the eighth performance and the last of the local tour. This work recorded at such a show is a powerful and ultra-realistic exquisite audience recording. Although this work was performed in Osaka, it is actually part of the Nagoya collection. Recently, we have introduced many masterpieces recorded in Nagoya by original DAT, but this work is also the work of that master taper. In fact, the sound of this work is extremely thick and clear, and the sound is fresh and delicate. It doesn't feel so close that you might mistake it for a sound board, but it doesn't feel far away either. The slightly thicker hole sound does not hide the details, giving the core luster and dynamism. As a result, there is plenty of response in the midrange/deep bass, and there is no sense of sparseness. What is depicted with such dynamic sound is a full show that can be said to be the Japanese trial version of "HIGH LIVE". Although the set is very similar to the official version, it is not exactly the same, so let's compare and organize them here. Classics (5 songs)・Walls of Jericho: How Many Tears (★)・Shugoshinden-Chapter 1-: Future World・Shugoshinden-Chapter 2-: Eagle Fly Free/Dr. Stein・Pink Bubbles・Go Ape: The Chance Master of the Rings (4 songs) / Sole Survivor / Mr. Ego (Take Me Down) / Why? / Where The Rain Grows Time of the Ous (6 songs) / We Burn/Wake Up The Mountain/The Time Of The Oath/Before The War/Power/Steel Tormentor *Note: Songs marked with "★" cannot be heard on "HIGH LIVE". ...and it looks like this. There may be no songs like "In the Middle of a Heartbeat" and "Perfect Gentleman" that were heard on "HIGH LIVE," but instead, the performance sells the super famous song "How Many Tears," and it's a great performance that lasts about 11 minutes. If they let me listen to it, I can't complain. Moreover, this song suits Andy Deris well. Of course, the earnest original Kai Hansen and the disgustingly relaxed Michael Kiske are both good, but Andy's voice adds humidity to the beautiful melody and exudes a sense of sadness. This is an exquisite version filled with indescribable emotion. In addition, there is plenty of delicious repertoire of ``MASTER OF THE RINGS'' and ``THE TIME OF THE OATH,'' such as ``Mr. Ego (Take Me Down)'' and ``Wake Up The Mountain,'' which we can no longer hope for. This is a live album where you can experience the best of such famous songs at the peak of their popularity. A new excavation that revives the excitement of 25 years ago in a super realistic way. Exquisite audience recording of the "September 29, 1996: Osaka Festival Hall" performance. The core is extremely thick and clear, and the slightly thicker hole sound is fresh and delicate, giving the core luster and dynamism. There is plenty of response in the midrange/deep bass, and there is no feeling of sparseness at all. Although the show is very similar to "HIGH LIVE," the highlight is an 11-minute long performance of the super famous song "How Many Tears," which cannot be heard on the official live version. This is a newly discovered live album where you can experience the best of Andy's singing voice, which has a beautiful melody with humidity and a sense of sadness.
