The HEAVEN & HELL project was the last glory of the hero Ronnie James Dio. This new treasure live album is a new discovery. What is infused into this work is “May 18, 2007 Columbia Performance”. This is the best audience recording. The HEAVEN & HELL project was active for three years intermittently until Ronnie passed away in 2009, but the most active period was in 2007, the first year. This is also a good opportunity, so let's take a look back at the project's overall activities and confirm the show's position. March 11th - May 19th, 2007: North America #1 (32 performances) ←★Here★《``THE DIO YEARS'' released on April 3rd》 June 2nd - July 7th: Europe #1 (19 performances) ・August 2nd – 16th: Oceania (8 performances) ・August 30th – October 6th: North America #2 (23 performances) ・October 20th – 27th: Asia (5 performances)・November 4th to 18th: UK (11 performances) 2008 ・August 6th to 31st: North America #3 (17 performances) 2009 [``THE DEVIL YOU KNOW'' released on April 28th] ・May 5th - 17th: South America (8 performances) ・May 30th - June 27th: Europe #2 (17 performances) ・July 25th - August 1st: Europe #3 (4 performances) ← *Official NEON NIGHTS August 7th-29th: North America #4 (16 performances) This is the overall picture of the HEAVEN & HELL project. The Columbia performance of this work was the 31st performance of "North America #1", which was the biggest leg at the beginning of the activity. From this “North America #1”, the official work “LIVE FROM RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL” was also produced, but this work was also a concert about a month and a half later. This work recorded at such a show is the finest audience recording. This is a recently discovered master, but it was created by the modern prestigious Krw_co. It is a famous product that was transferred directly from the original DAT master. And, as expected, the sound is suitable for the prestigious audience. It must be an audience recording that also sucks in close conversation voices, but the important performance sound is super clear down to the minute details with zero distance and close contact. It’s amazing how the so-called “sound board” goes on the ground. The greatness of it is probably due to the venue. The Merryweather Post Pavilion, where the event took place, is a huge venue with a capacity of approximately 20,000 people, but the important thing is that there are no walls. There is a ceiling above the stage and the seats in the nearby arena, but it is wide open on three sides so that no sound is reflected. However, that alone cannot explain the super vivid sound of this work. I'm guessing from this, but I think they are probably recording by pointing the microphone directly at the PA tower installed for the far seats. The far seats at this venue are completely outdoor with no ceiling, and many spectators spread out their seats to watch the show. What's more, the rhythm of the audience sucked in was not as frenzied as it was in the front seats, but rather tranquil, as if calling out to a distant stage. This work has an ultra-tight sound that can only be thought of as a zero-reverberation environment with no ceiling. What is depicted with such exquisite sound is a full show full of joy that has regained its glory. Let's organize the set here. 80's Classics (5 songs)・Heaven & Hell: Children Of The Sea/Lady Evil/Die Young/Heaven And Hell/Neon Knights・Devil's Rules: The Mob Rules/The Sign Of The Southern Cross/Voodoo/Falling Off The Edge Of The World After 90's (5 songs)・Dehumanizer: After All (The Dead)/I/Computer God・Best of Dio Years: The Devil Cried/The Shadow Of The Wind...and... It looks like this. To put it bluntly, it's the style of ``LIVE FROM RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL'' minus ``Lonely Is the Word.'' More is often better than less, but the fun of music is that this is not always the correct answer. Although it is unfortunate that there are few valuable songs, the flow of the show is tighter because of this, and the performance sounds tighter and tighter. And the majestic mood is wonderful. As mentioned above, “Merryweather Post Pavilion” is a semi-outdoor venue, and the back area is almost like a festival. Fans blazing with fire surged forward, echoing the sounds of mountains in the distance, while the atmosphere nearby was filled with the atmosphere of an autumn festival. The mixed mood with a sense of perspective perfectly depicts the atmosphere unique to a huge venue, and the performance that dominates it all has a great feeling. This atmosphere of openness on set was something that would never have been possible in the later years of DIO, which had become a club-sized venue. How much the HEAVEN & HELL project was desired by the world, and how it graced Ronnie's later years. This work is not only an excellent live music album, but also a documentary album that allows you to experience those days first-hand. A new excavation that allows you to enjoy the sense of the times with the best sound. The best audience recording of "May 18, 2007 Columbia Performance". This is a masterpiece transferred from the Omoto DAT master excavated by the prestigious "Krw_co", and it is ultra-clear down to the smallest details with zero distance and close contact. Perhaps because of the semi-open-air venue with no walls, the vivid performance sound with no echoes is as amazing as a "sound board" on the ground. The set that summarized the famous songs of Ronnie's era was wonderful, and Ronnie was full of spirit as he excited the big venue for the first time in a while. This is a new masterpiece of a live album where you can enjoy the best sound, including the open atmosphere unique to semi-outdoors.
