HEART made a breakthrough in 1978 by sending "LITTLE QUEEN" to number 9 in the United States. Introducing a live set that allows you to experience the best of such glorious scenes. There are two performances recorded in this work. This is a 3-disc set containing the audience records of "January 1, 1978 + December 5, 1978 Fresno Performances". However, although it is two performances, it is not just a coupling of recordings. It's a bit complicated, so let's summarize the structure of this work here. DISC 1-2: 2-disc live album - Superb full audience recording from December 5, 1978 DISC 3: Live footage - First half: Audience shots from January 1, 1978 (12 songs) - Second half: 1978 Audience shot (3 songs) on December 5th, 2019… and it looks like this. Although both performances are “1978 Fresno,” there was about a year in between, and the tours were different performances. Please also check the schedule at that time to get an idea of each position.・January 1st + 2nd: North America #1 (2 performances) ←★First half of DISC 3★ ・March 10th - April 2nd: North America #2 (5 performances) [Official release of "MAGAZINE" on April 22nd] 》・June 11th-July 1st: North America #3 (17 performances)・August 12th-October 6th: North America #4a (15 performances)《“DOG & BUTTERFLY” released on October 7th》・October 7th - 22nd: North America #4b (14 performances) November 15th - December 31st: North America #5 (22 performances) ←★DISC 1-2/DISC 3 second half★ [DISC 1-2: December 5, 1978 full audience recording] The first thing that appears is the two-disc live album that is the main part of this work. This is a full audience recording approximately two months after the release of “DOG & BUTTERFLY”. The biggest point of this 2-disc set is the superb sound that is labeled "super". In fact, this recording has been known for a long time, but the information has been complicated. Judging from the date, "December 5th" and "May 12th" are mixed, and the type is also said to be "FM broadcast sound board" and "transcendental audience". At present, according to the verification of enthusiast sources, the most likely theory is "super-excellent audience on December 5th", so this work is also based on that theory. It was a confusing introduction, but this is also because this work is of too high quality. In fact, when I listen to it again, it feels so thick and intimate that I can't help but wonder, "Is this really an audience?!" However, it is certain that there was a taper in Fresno in the late 1970s who made a series of extremely high-quality audience recordings (for example, BLACK SABBATH's masterpiece "SABBATH IN FRESNO"), so this work may also be the work of that person. I don't know. And the show drawn with that sound is a rush of early masterpieces centered around the new work "DOG & BUTTERFLY". You can enjoy the intense full show of the youthful Ann Wilson singing voice with the super best sound of an FM sound board. Let's organize the set here. DOG & BUTTERFLY (5 songs) ・Cook With Fire/High Time/Straight On/Mistral Wind/Dog & Butterfly Others ・DREAMBOAT ANNIE (3 songs + α):Magic Man/Crazy On You (Silver Wheels)/White Lightning & Wine・LITTLE QUEEN (3 songs): Love Alive/Kick It Out/Barracuda・MAGAZINE (3 songs): Heartless/Devil Delight/Magazine ・Others (1 song): Rock And Roll [DISC 3: Set from 8mm film of 2 performances Audience shot] The following DISC 3 is a rare and exquisite audience shot. If you are a collector, you may be familiar with this, but it is a masterpiece that we have previously introduced as a single video with the title ``FRESNO 1978: THE VIDEO''. Last year, a large amount of the best audience shots of the 70s Fresno performance were unearthed, and this video is one of them. It was filmed before video became popular, but the quality is contrary to what you would expect from 1970s film. The most surprising thing is the length of each cut. Although film footage from the 1970s was typically cut into pieces ranging from tens of seconds to a minute, this film frequently uses cuts that are over five minutes long. As expected, you cannot expect to shoot a full show, but the lack of video is supplemented with still images, etc., and you can fully enjoy each song. Moreover, the visual beauty is overwhelming. To begin with, the film is more beautiful than the early VHS, but the state of preservation of this work is exceptional. There is no distortion or noise due to damage, and the ultra-clear scenery continues endlessly. What's more, the angle that seems to have been taken using a tripod gives you an extraordinary sense of stability, given the superb view. Although it is captured at a diagonal angle from the right side of the stage (Nancy's side), only the left and right sides are at an angle. Perhaps because it is a stand seat, there is no vertical angle, and the image is captured at the same eye level as the members on stage. There are no obstructions on top of it. At that time, the lighting was darker than it is now, but all you could see was the stage. There are no shadows passing in front of the camera, and the audience in the arena cannot be seen. Even the single grain of glitter sewn into Ann's costume is sparkling and beautiful, and you can completely immerse yourself in the image of HEART. And the audio that is suitable for that spectacular view is also soundboard-class (the December 5th edition seems to have the same audio as DISC 1-2 synchronized). Although I cannot hope for a full show, it is shocking that I can experience the real scene of the 70s with such quality. A live album that you can fully experience with the quality of an FM sound board, and spectacular footage that overturns the common sense of the 70s. This is a definitive set that allows you to experience HEART, which has just entered its golden age. A 3-disc set that will reign as a masterpiece among masterpieces representing early HEART.
