Truly, "See ALL THOSE WASTED YEARS with Your Eyes!" This out-of-print official video version of the traditional concert album has been reissued in the highest quality. This out-of-print work is a multi-camera pro-shot of the "December 19, 1983 Marquee Club Performance." Yes, it's "ALL THOSE WASTED YEARS... LIVE AT THE MARQUEE," a home video created from the same show as the official live album. The "Marquee Club Performance" that served as the setting for this work was realized about a year before Razzle's death. This is a good opportunity to take a bird's-eye view of HANOI ROCKS' activities at the end of their careers and confirm their position. 1983 January 1st-20th: Europe #1 (7 shows) January 25th-February 14th: Asia (9 shows) March 30th-April 3rd: Israel (5 shows) April 8th: London show {May "BACK TO MYSTERY CITY" released} May 2nd-August 26th: Europe #2 (51 shows) October 15th-22nd: UK #1 (7 shows) December 16th-31st: Europe #3a (9 shows) ←★Here★ 1984 January 1st-8th: Europe #3b (7 shows) March 23rd-30th: North America #1 (4 shows) April 8th-11th: Germany (4 shows) April 15th-19th: Japan (6 shows) April 22nd-July 1st: UK #2 (32 shows) {August 7th "TWO "STEPS FROM THE MOVE" Released October 10th - November 11th: Europe #4 (18 shows) November 14th - December 3rd: North America #2 (18 shows) December 8th: Razzle passed away This is HANOI ROCKS in 1983/1984. The "BACK TO MYSTERY CITY Tour" spanned approximately one year and two months from the album's release in May 1983. This film's "Marquee Club Performance" was the fourth concert of "Europe #3," the middle of that period. As mentioned above, this show is known as the official traditional live album "ALL THOSE WASTED YEARS," but a pro-shot video version was also released around the same time. However, as was the fate of video productions at the time, it quickly went out of print. Forty years later, this phantom film has yet to be officially released on DVD. And what soothes the mummified heart that has gone beyond craving? This disc is meticulously digitized from the highest-quality master in existence. That master is the Japanese laserdisc. Released in Japan in 1989, amid the excitement surrounding "NOT FAKIN' IT," this mint-quality copy was kindly provided by a core collector. The visual beauty is truly top-notch. LD itself has higher resolution than VHS, and its physical properties are resistant to tape-like running distortion and magnetic imprinting, making it resistant to aging. The scene from over 35 years ago remains exactly as it was, and even if the official master still exists, it is unlikely that the quality of this work could be matched... Such ultimate quality depicts the "other side" of the traditional live album. However, the track selection differs from the album version, so let's compare and clarify the differences here. Mystery City (4 songs), Back To Mystery City, Until I Get You, Mental Beat, Malibu Beach Nightmare, and others (6 songs + 4 songs), White Night Violence: Don't You Ever Leave Me, Tragedy, Oriental Beat: Oriental Beat, Motorvatin', Self-Destruction Blues: Beer And A Cigarette, Taxi Driver, Other covers: I Feel Alright (THE STOOGES), Train Kept A-Rollin' (Tiny Bradshaw), Under My Wheels (Alice Cooper), Blitzkrieg Bop (★: RAMONES) *Note: Songs marked with a "★" are not included on the live album version of "ALL THOSE WASTED YEARS." The original artists who covered the songs are listed in parentheses. ...And so it goes. Just the collection of these powerful hits is enough to fill your heart, but what's even more impressive is the hyper-visibility! After all, Michael Monroe was only 21 years old at the time. Unaware of the impending tragedy, the band's rampage onstage explodes with uncontrollable energy, concentrating unrelentingly in the cramped space of the Marquee Club. While the sheer intensity of the band's energy is apparent on the album, the accompanying video allows for a visceral experience. This is a masterpiece of Hanoi Rocks' culmination, a video that should have been officially released long ago. This is the highest quality version. A video version of the traditional official live album...or rather, this work itself is the star of the album. A true cultural heritage, an unparalleled video work. This multi-camera pro-shot recording of the "December 19, 1983 Marquee Club Performance" features the same out-of-print official footage from the same show as the traditional live album, now available on DVD from the Japanese laser disc. The visual beauty far surpasses VHS and is truly at its finest. In addition to "Blitzkrieg Bop," a track not included on the album, you can witness Michael Monroe's rampage onstage at just 21 years old. It is a cultural heritage that even the official live albums are hazy, and it is an absolute video work that cannot be surpassed.
