“CHINESE DEMOCRACY TOUR” now evokes nostalgia. This is a superb live album vacuum-packed from the first day of the 2006 edition. This work includes “May 12, 2006 New York performance”. Anyway, even if you say "CHINESE DEMOCRACY TOUR", it is a long period of 10 years. First, let's check the position in chronological order.・January & December 2001: 4 performances ・August-December 2002: 23 performances - 4 years later - ・May-December 2006: 75 performances ←★Here★ ・February & June 2007-7 Month: 20 performances - 1 and a half years later - "CHINESE DEMOCRACY" released in November 2008 - 1 year later - December 2009 - December 2010: 76 performances October - December 2011: 41 performances In total, 239 performances. It's been a long 10 years, but it can be roughly divided into 2001-2002, 2006-2007, and 2009-2011. The New York performance of this work was also the first performance of the ``2006-2007''. In other words, "21st Century GUNS N' ROSES", which once started, went silent again, and this is the first time it has been restarted after a four-year period. Nowadays it is just a page in history, but at the time it had been a huge impact for the first time in four years. After all, even though Slash & Duff McKagan's VELVET REVOLVER has been taking the scene by storm during the re-silence, there is no prospect of ``CHINESE DEMOCRACY'' being released at the head of the band. In the meantime, Buckethead left and Ron Sahl, who was said to be a ``great guy known only to those in the know,'' joined. Restarting without knowing "what will happen next"... This work, which captures such a premiere, was very popular with fans who wanted to hear the "live sound" as soon as possible. Of course, just because it's a popular show doesn't mean it's hugely popular. Even at that time, it was the exceptional sound that received great acclaim. Although it is not the type of "just like a sound board", the robustness and clearness of its musical tone leave the audience alone. The treble reaches straight, and the "ringing" in the midrange is glossy and rich. The bass, which tends to be a weak point in audience recording, is also recorded with plenty of response. In addition to the musical sound, the realistic applause is also wonderful. Although it is not a recording in which one person's voice is heard loudly (never!), the enthusiasm that spreads at the scene is depicted with neat sound. This mood is really delicious. As mentioned earlier, they were overflowing with joy at being able to witness the restart after 4 years, and were excited to sing the major songs that were performed one after another, and were excited by the new songs. You can truly enjoy the feeling of "standing there". And GUNS N' ROSES in front of that audience was also amazing. Rather than being in peak condition, there is a sense of tension that comes from “the first time in four years,” but that is precisely why the careful performance is refreshing. And Axel's singing voice, which has (finally) started to feel like having sex after a long break, rises comfortably. Although it is a familiar set list now, it is a live album that you can sing and enjoy each song as if you are savoring it. Now that Slash & Duff have returned, this passionate performance is a page in history. However, this is one page that did exist. This work is a masterpiece with good sound, good songs, and good performances even if you listen to it now. But that's not the end. Those days when I was watching VELVET REVOLVER's success from the sidelines, but I was still waiting for the accelerator. The atmosphere of the era when that goal finally came true. It is a masterpiece live album that depicts the music and mood with high quality sound. Live at Hammerstein Ballroom, New York, USA 12th May 2006 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 1. Intro. 2.
