The best footage from the beginning of the “USE YOUR ILLUSION TOUR” will be released. This work includes the “Philadelphia performance on December 17, 1991”. “1991” was a year of various changes, such as the release of an album, member changes, and the introduction of a horn section. First, let's check the position of the show in the timeline. ・January 20 + 23: ROCK IN RIO II (2 performances) ・May 9-August 3: North America #1 (41 performances) ・August 13-31: Europe (7 performances) 《September 17th “USE YOUR ILLUSION I & II” released》 《September 24th: Izzy Stradlin's departure reported》 《Introduction of horn section》 ・December 5-31st: North America #2 (9 performances) ←★Here★ This is an overview of “1991”. The tour itself will continue until July 1993, but this is the first year of that. In the first half of the year, they started with a six-person lineup that welcomed Dizzy Reed and Matt Sorum, but in the fall, an album was released, Izzy left, and Gilby Clarke joined. When the tour resumed in December, a horn section was introduced, and the show changed dramatically. The Philadelphia performance in this work is the seventh performance of "North America #2". The greatest thing about this work is its incredible quality. It was shot from the stands slightly to the left of the stage, but the shadows of the front row are hardly reflected, probably because they are in the front seats. Due to the slightly angled top-down perspective, the stage occupies the field of view as if it were shot from the air with a drone. What is even more surprising is the beauty of the image itself. It seems to have been digitized directly from the original master of Hi8, and there is no dubbing or aging deterioration at all. Despite the footage being 26 years old, it looks as if it was shot yesterday... no, it is so vivid that it feels as if you are witnessing the show with your naked eyes right now. In addition to the beauty of the image, the camerawork that follows the highlights with a bold zoom is also wonderful. It's a little different from the stability of today's anti-shake function, but it captures the accelerator and slash that run around with the zoom approaching the limit of the equipment in the center of the screen and doesn't let go. On the other hand, it accurately includes a distant view where you can see the huge stage, and also uses screen shots. It captures the taste of the show! It's a high level of awareness of the photographer that makes this video possible. Of course, he knows the band well, but he is also more conscious of recording. After all, the Hi8 used for the shoot was released in June of this year. Not only did he have the latest model that had just been released, but he was surely used to shooting with his flexible camera work, and he had practiced how to use it before the show. And because he was shooting so seriously, the master was kept as it was at the time for 26 years... It is a visual beauty that proves such careful preparation and passion. It is a monster show that the whole world is paying attention to, depicted with such quality. There is no tour fatigue at all because it is the seventh performance since the tour resumed, and the condition is at its peak just after the tension has just been released. Axl, who was still in his 20s, was in top form and had a charismatic aura. Moreover, the mood was wonderful, as if he was enjoying the band's state. After the performance of "November Rain," Duff complained to the audience member who spat on him, which was a momentary chill, but Axl had plenty of composure. He brushed it off as if to say, "Well, what's the point?", introduced the other members, and changed the atmosphere. Of course, the performance and singing were also passionate enough to prove his composure. It was simply beautiful. It was simply vivid. Unfortunately, there were cuts to the drum solo and guitar solo, but the rest of the video was a masterpiece that you could experience from the best view in the special seats. This monster band released two new albums at the same time and was ravaging the entire world on stage. Live at Philadelphia Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA. USA 17th December 1991 (104:06) 1.
