This work was filmed at “The Ritz performance on February 2, 1988.” This is a multi-camera professional shot. Of course, the quality is impeccable. Unlike the GUNS N' ROSES edition, it is not a pre-broadcast version master, but both recording and mixing are completely official work. In fact, this live was officially released as a promo CD "LIVE AT THE RITZ", and "Since I've Been Loving You" and "Face the Day" were included in the Japanese version "RECOVERY: LIVE!" . GREAT WHITE, which can be seen in completely official quality, is an exquisite stage that exquisitely blends "blues" and "LA metal". Although it is short at only 9 songs and 48 minutes as it is the opening act, the early masterpieces are concentrated in that limited time. Let's organize the set here and get a feel for its concentration. SHOT IN THE DARK (4 songs)・Shot In The Dark (★)/What Do You Do (★)/Is Anybody There (★)/Face The Day ONCE BITTEN (3 songs)・Gonna Getcha/All Over Now/Rock Me Others (2 songs)・Money (That's What I Want) (Barrett Strong) / Since I've Been Loving You (LED ZEPPELIN) *Note: ``★'' marks could not be heard even on the official promo CD LIVE AT THE RITZ. song. ...and it looks like this. The best songs of ``SHOT IN THE DARK'' and ``ONCE BITTEN'' are arranged, and covers of the Beatles' famous ``Money (That's What I Want)'' and ``Since I've Been Loving You'' are sprinkled in there. It is truly an early concentration reduction product, and is packed with "adult LA metal". All the songs are really great, but the one that stands out is "Since I've Been Loving You." Jack Russell, along with FASTWAY's Dave King and KINGDOM COME's Lenny Wolfe, was seen as the ``successor of Robert Plant,'' but he is one step ahead of the other two in terms of his sexy singing style. He stands out by two steps. In this work, he is wearing a costume with LED ZEPPELIN proudly drawn on it, and his overflowing love is on full display. In such covers, Jack is so close to Plant that it sends shivers down your spine, but even in his original songs, which are nothing like LED ZEPPELIN, he is very sexy. ``Shot In The Dark'' with a full 80's mood, ``All Over Now'' full of dynamism, and the famous song ``Rock Me''. Plant's voice sings melodious, sparkling, and slightly bluesy LA metal...I know it's too late now, but what a luxurious rock band GREAT WHITE is. Immediately after such a mellow rock performance, GUNS N’ ROSES’s “that” intense performance can be heard, so the audience on this day is truly the happiest person in the world. GUNS N' ROSES rose to become the darlings of the era while sprinkling their street sensibilities, and GREAT WHITE stood out from the rest of LA metal with their bluesy sex appeal. This is a gorgeous DVD where you can experience HR/HM, which was at its peak in the 1980s, with super professional shots that took it to another dimension. Live at Ritz, New York, NY.
