The latest edited collection of 1971 Grand Funk Railroad, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary first visit to Japan that is still talked about today, is now available! As the title suggests, it is a turbulent event, from the Hawaii performance just before coming to Japan to the Shea Stadium performance, which was the biggest event since the Beatles, including valuable recordings of the heavy rain at Korakuen Stadium and Osaka Stadium, which became a rock legend in the 1970s. Four performances held in "July 1971" are recorded with the latest remastered sound source and video DVD coupling. CD1 first includes the July 12, 1971 performance in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is a sound board live sound source that is familiar as a masterpiece of 70's analog, but it is recorded with the latest restored sound source that has been significantly upgraded from the flat and thin original. Next, we will record for the first time the precious treasured sound source that was broadcast on the radio in the 1970s from the performance at Korakuen Stadium during the heavy rain on July 17th, which is still talked about today. Only two songs are broadcast, starting from the stage announcement before the actual concert, but the performance itself is said to have been edited by covering it with the live album sound source instead of playing the actual live sound source as it is, and it is said that it is a customary song that has been edited since then due to heavy rain. Therefore, the radio broadcast sound source at the time, which is the basis for the suspicion that it was not actually performed, is recorded as a historical recording sound source in a sense. For comparison, an actual audience recording of “Heartbreaker” is also included. CD2 includes the Osaka Stadium performance on July 18th, which was held the day after the Tokyo performance. The original sound source has been upgraded with a new remaster, bringing back the realism of the concert at the time. The DVD includes a complete version of the live footage from the July 9th performance at Shea Stadium in New York.
