The elusive official VHS footage of the girls who were a huge hit as a girl pop band from Los Angeles in the early 80s has been released on DVD. The VHS videos "TOTALLY GO-GO'S!" and "WILD AT THE GREEK" were both released in the 80s but are now out of print and have never been released on official DVDs. This title DVD is a compilation of the best masters of these videos. Disc 1 contains 72 minutes of their first video work "TOTALLY GO-GO'S!". It is a live performance in Los Angeles on December 4, 1981, when their debut album "BEAUTY AND THE BEAT" was a No. 1 hit in the US. It was released on VHS in 1982 but was never released in Japan and has never been released on DVD since. The set, which includes all the songs from "BEAUTY AND THE BEAT" and three songs from "VACATION," which were not yet released at the time, reminds me of their first concert in Japan the following year. Everything is just cute, and there is plenty of Belinda Carlisle's fresh performance. Disc 2 also contains the live VHS "WILD AT THE GREEK" released at the time of the release of "TALK SHOW," which is a 52-minute recording of a live performance in Berkeley on August 3, 1984. This is a rare video that was released on DVD only once, but was soon out of print, and is now difficult to obtain. The live performance was held in a much larger outdoor amphitheater than in 1981, and the stage set was also large-scale, as if to speak of the scale of their global success. In addition, 7 out of the 10 songs from "TALK SHOW," released six months earlier, are performed here, along with 5 representative songs from "BEAUTY AND THE BEAT," making it the best of their three albums.
