GILLAN was at his peak in 1981, when he sent "GLORY ROAD" and "FUTURE SHOCK" into the top three in the UK in quick succession. Introducing a powerful soundboard album in which the guitar of Yannick Guards, who just joined the band, is blazing. There are two performances included in this work. This is a 2-disc set with stereo soundboard recordings of "June 25, 1981 Cologne performance" and "June 29, 1981 Munich performance" on each disc. Speaking of 1981, a performance in Japan was realized, and there was also a replacement play from Bernie Thome. The meaning of a live show changes depending on the position of the show, so let's organize it from the history at that time. [FUTURE SHOCK completed in January] February 5th - March 13th: UK #1 (11 performances) - May 29th - June 22nd: Europe (17 performances) [Bernie Thome leaves] June 24th: Appearance on TOP OF THE POPS《Joined Yannick Guards》・June 25th-June 30th: West Germany (6 performances) ←★Coco★・July 25th: Appearance in Dorset《August “DOUBLE TROUBLE” ”Production》・August 29: Reading Festival performance・October 1-22: Asia/Australia (6 performances)・October 29-December 22: UK #2 (43 performances) This is 1981 GILLAN. Thome left the European tour immediately after the release of “FUTURE SHOCK”, but this is quite amazing. The continental European tour also started in West Germany, and Thome left the band after 8 performances. The band postponed their remaining dates and hurriedly returned to England. That's why Yannick joined the group while also appearing on "TOP OF THE POPS." There's nothing special about this flow itself, but it's extremely quick. Three days after Thome's final performance, it was an outrageous Ultra C that resumed the tour with a new system including Yannick. And, among them, the two performances of this work are the very early stages immediately after Yannick joined. It is the historic premiere + 5th performance. This work recorded at such two performances is a super powerful stereo sound board. Although the term "sound board" may be used to describe it, there are various individualities such as FM broadcasting that creates a venue experience, a direct connection type for on-site mixing, and a monitor type for staff work, but in the case of this work, the sound board ``Mix table direct connection system'' for enthusiasts. It's also a top class guy. Speaking of 1981, there is also the official excavation disc ``ON THE ROCKS (Tome's final stage)'', but since that is also a direct connection, this work can also be called ``official style'', but when it was first recorded. It is clear that there was no intention to turn it into a work. While the cheers are whispering in the distance, the extremely close performance is forcibly screwed into your brain. The simulated experience of a concert takes a backseat to the feeling of synchronization of your whole body and the band itself, and you are entranced by the feeling of synchronization. What is depicted with such a directly connected sound is GILLAN, which has been changed by new guitarist Yannick Gers. It's about a week after "ON THE ROCKS", so let's organize the set by combining the two performances. Glory Road (4 songs, 7 takes) / Unchain Your Brain (★) / No Easy Way / If You Believe Me (DISC 2 only) / On The Rocks Future Shock (3 songs) / No Laughing in Heaven / Bite The Bullet/New Orleans Others (4 songs) Trouble/Vengeance/Smoke on The Water/Lucille *Note: Songs marked with "★" cannot be heard on the official version "ON THE ROCKS". ...and it looks like this. My heart is warmed by the special number “Unchain Your Brain” that I could not hear in “ON THE ROCKS”, but unfortunately both performances lack an intro. From this point on, I can only imagine that the official “ON THE ROCKS” Aachen performance probably started with “Unchain Your Brain” in the same way. And, like this work, the intro was not recorded, so it was cut when it was commercialized. The engineer recorded the sound board for every performance, but he didn't think about turning it into a work, so he didn't fix the habit of delaying the intro...I can't help but think that way. In any case, it is a superb stereo soundboard album that can be considered the "official ON THE ROCKS Yannick version". It is a sonic evidence of a historical change play, and is also a masterpiece of musical work that rivals the official masterpieces. ``June 25, 1981 Cologne performance + June 29, 1981 Munich performance'' immediately after Yannick Guards joined. Stereo soundboard recording set. In particular, the Cologne performance is Yannick's first performance worldwide. The system is directly connected to a top-of-the-line mix table, and while the cheers are heard whispering in the distance, the extremely deep and close performance is forcibly screwed into your brain. You will be captivated by the synchronized feeling of the band itself and your whole body being perfectly in sync. You can also enjoy the special number ``Unchain Your Brain'' that cannot be heard on the official excavation album ``ON THE ROCKS'' (although the intro is not recorded), and you can fully experience the unique HR full of driving feeling that has been changed with Yannick's guitar. .
