GENESIS and Phil Collins dominated the music world in the 1980s with Hugh Padjam. The Japanese program from that time has been decided to be released. There are two programs included in this work. The main feature is the special program "MAMA TOUR SPEICAL 1984" themed around the album "GENESIS". And, we have included a bonus recording of “Music Fair”, which appeared in 1989, five years later. Both are original air check masters recorded by domestic recording enthusiasts, and are being released for the first time in Japan. He has provided many excellent records in the past, but this time he is even more amazing. Not only is the recording in excellent condition using high-end equipment at the time, but the state of preservation is also amazing, with no signs of aging or wrinkling. There is not even the slightest noise in the video or audio, and the visual beauty is so overwhelming that it makes you wonder if it was sold as a laser disc. The program, which is depicted with that quality, consists of youthful appearances and interviews with the members. All comments are original to the program. Now, let's introduce each of the two programs. [Main: MAMA TOUR SPEICAL 1984] First up is the GENESIS special program that was broadcast in the Kansai area. The structure was such that while the song was being played, the members' comments were inserted in between. First of all, the interesting thing is the video for each song. "That's All" and "Turn It On Again" at the beginning are familiar PVs, but the others are live scenes. “Abacab” is a studio live performance that seems to be an overseas TV program, but the six songs after “Keep It Dark” are even more interesting. It is a live scene that conveys the state of “MAMA TOUR”, but at first glance it seems like it was diverted from the official video “LIVE - THE MAMA TOUR”, but it is actually different. Although the costumes, sets, and mood are very similar, the cuts and movements are completely different. Even the sense of camera work is similar, so it might be an outtake from "LIVE - THE MAMA TOUR". Moreover, this is extremely complete. Although the luxuriousness of the latest stage was shown off through carefully thought out and elaborate angles, there was no audience to be seen or heard. It’s a stunning video that almost looks like a live clip. And the comments in between are also interesting. I appreciate the Japanese subtitles where Darryl Stuerner is spelled ``DANYL STUERNER'' and the Varilight system is ``Very Light,'' but Phil says, ``It cost a lot of money to develop. We were the first to use the stage.'' "I also use Bowie and Police, but it's on a different scale," he says proudly. The aforementioned live video will be broadcast like evidence, but in reality it’s not that great in my eyes. Even so, the sense of the times 34 years ago shines through in his confidence as a pioneer. Phil's comment, ``I want to go to Japan again. Last time (in 1978), I was depressed because of my divorce problem. That's why I drank every night to get rid of the loneliness.'' Phil said, ``I want to go to Japan again.'' At that time, he had just remarried his second wife, Jill Tavelman, and his grinning face was a thing of the past, but if you think about it, his solo visit to Japan in 1985 and the “INVISIBLE TOUCH JAPAN TOUR” in 1987 had not yet come true. At the end, Phil says, ``Please buy the record, so I can go.'' In other words, ``I can't go because it doesn't sell well in Japan.'' Here, too, the disparity in popularity between Japan and overseas, and the reality of 1984, becomes clear. [Bonus: Music Fair (1989)] And the bonus video is from 1989, five years later. This is a video of Phil's solo appearance on Japan's longest music program. The main 1984 special program was an edit of overseas recordings, but this one was performed after coming to Japan. He came to Japan to promote ``Phil Collins in Buster,'' in which Phil played the lead role and served as music director. In this program, we also talk with the host, but the content is not very interesting, consisting of conventional social commentary and movie outlines. However, the person on the other end of the conversation was Yuko Furute, and her co-star was Yoko Ogino. Mr. Furu○gawa was 29 years old at the time, and Mr. Ogi○me was also slightly 20 years old. Its radiant youthfulness is truly dazzling. Of course, the important thing is Phil's song. In this program, they sing three songs from the movie soundtrack, “Two Hearts,” “A Groovy Kind Of Love,” and “One More Night,” and the fact that three songs were allotted slots on a nationwide commercial broadcast is amazing. Since 1985 and 1987 have passed here, he says that it is his 4th visit to Japan, and you will notice that Phil's popularity has changed considerably in 5 years. The film ends with the calm Dancing Hero saying, ``(Meeting Phil) made me even more excited than usual.'' GENESIS in 1984, which boasts a ceiling-length Varilight system, and Phil Collins in 1989, promoting the movie he stars in with a lot of celebrity vibes. This is a Japanese program set where you can enjoy both in the highest quality. A masterpiece professional shot that not only shows the youthful appearance of a man in his 30s at the time, but also the scent of the bubbly era from every corner. (60:41) 1. That's All 2.
