The 2CD "DEFINITIVE MONTREAL 1974" is a masterpiece that allows you to listen to the best selections of Peter Gabriel's songs live on an official soundboard. The Montreal performance was held for two consecutive days on April 20th and April 21st at the same Universal Sports Center. Among them, the broadcast of the radio "CHOM-FM", which has been made into 2 CDs, was on "April 21st", but there is also footage from the previous day "April 20th". This work is a video work in which the FM audio of "April 21st" is overlaid on the "April 20th" video. This video was produced by overseas GENESIS enthusiasts. The footage is film from the time, but the vivid colors and noise-free screen are in the best condition. Moreover, the footage from multiple cameras is skillfully assembled, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in 72 minutes of quality that can almost be seen as a professional shot. However, even though they are consecutive performances at the same venue, they are different live performances, so not all performances can be perfectly synchronized, and there are occasional pickings without sound, and parts without video (mainly between songs) are static. Sometimes it becomes a picture. However, the degree of synchronization in the parts with video is not great. Everything from Tony Banks' fingertips, Phil Collins' stick, to Gabriel's mouth as he speaks French, all fit together so perfectly that you'll think they're exactly as they were in the video. Even if it's a still image, it clearly captures the content of the performance. For example, if there isn't enough footage of Gabriel playing the flute, we can create a fantasy-like movement by using multiple photos of the flute playing, or by zooming and sliding. The level of perfection that comes through is clearly conveyed by the careful attention to detail, and the effort put into assembling it. And, the sight of the classic Montreal performance that unfolds with that quality is amazing. The sound alone creates a fantastical feeling, but the many costumes and actions of Gabriel, and even the MC scene that tells the story of the lyrics are perfect. For example, before the Cinema Show, the story of Romeo & Juliet is familiar in its audio form, but it is difficult to see it in the professional shots of TV footage. However, in this work, you can see Gabriel's demeanor beyond that humorous tone. Furthermore, a screen image expressing the world of the lyrics is inserted, and Collins makes a monkey doll hit the cymbal, and the extremely rare "More Fool Me" sung by him is also included.
