This is a very rare live recording of Gary Burton, a master of the jazz vibraphone. The live sound source itself from this period is not that rare, but if you look at the appearance, the guitar is John Scofield. ECM's mainstay Steve Swallow is playing the bass, and with this lineup, the guitar should have been Pat Metheny. In the first place, Johnsco and ECM do not have much of a connection, making this a very unusual participation. Maybe it was the timing for him to serve as Metheny's pinch hitter for some reason. It's also fun to compare it with Metheny's version, such as the familiar ``Sea Journey.'' However, the sound quality is a little poor even though it is a sound board. Although it has been brought to an enjoyable level through painstaking remastering, it is not for beginners. If you are a beginner, please first check out the sound source of the Burton Quartet featuring Metheny, which has good sound quality. After listening to that, please come back to this sound source featuring Scofield.
