This is a premium mono audience recording of a New Jersey performance by Johnny Thunders and Wayne Kramer's super band, Gang War! A rare recording from Johnny Thunders and Wayne Kramer's super band, Gang War, is here! This live performance at Fast Lane in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on December 1, 1979, was recorded in premium mono audience quality! This recording was previously released on the same label as "Ramblin' New Jersey 1979," but this release has been digitally transferred and remastered from the master source. While mono, the vocals and each part are well-balanced, and the latest transfer has upgraded the sound quality even further! (The previous day's performance at the same venue can be heard on the same label's previously released "FAST LANE 79.") While Johnny's performance can vary from day to day, he was in excellent condition on this day, just like the day before, and his chemistry with Wayne was outstanding! The two-set concert kicked off with the Dolls-era instrumental "Courageous Cat," followed by Wayne's original "I Still Hate," featuring Johnny's guitar grooving. Plus, they played a cover of Mose Allison's "If You're Going to the City," a track only played a few times during Gang War! You'll also hear rare tracks that Wayne would later release as a solo artist. The second set included the classic "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory," and a rare version of "King of the Gypsies," a rare Gang Wars-era original from Johnny's 1983 cassette release "Too Much Junkie Business," featuring Johnny's narration inserted midway through. This is truly one of the greatest live performances ever! Fast Lane, Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA December 2,1979 <1st Set>01 Intro 02. Courageous Cat 03. Ramblin' Rose 04. london boys 05.
