The 1972 Japan tour, with a lineup that included Tetsu Yamauchi and Rabbit, was held at Korakuen Stadium on July 22nd and Koshien Stadium on July 24th, each as an undercard performance for EL&P. The original lineup of Free disbanded immediately after the Japan and Australia performances in 1971, and reunited in February 1972, but Kossoff, who was having serious drug problems at the time, and Fraser left one after another, and in June of the same year. They were reorganized as a four-piece group with the addition of Tsuki, Yamauchi, and Rabbit, and this Japan performance was the first official concert with this lineup. This edition contains a high-quality audience recording of the Korakuen performance from the original master cassette, which is not even available among traders. The master is a 60-minute tape, and the first appearance is 31 minutes recorded on one side of the tape, out of a total of 47 minutes, the intro and I'm On The Run until the 39th second, and the second half of the show, Heartbreaker 2:30. From then on until the end, it is connected with the same day sound source, and the live performance itself is completely recorded. Immediately after arriving in Japan, he refused to attend a press conference, saying, ``I haven't practiced with this group yet, so I can't be so careless as to attend a press conference as a new free agent at this stage.'' However, they practiced intensively at the International Artist Center behind TBS from the 17th to the 18th, and at the King Records studio where they belong from the 19th to the 21st, before taking on the challenge of performing at Korakuen. (However, on the 20th, Simon had a recurrence of gastroenteritis and was unable to practice for two days due to a high fever.) It was raining that day, and the performance started an hour later than scheduled. Is it a rights issue, or did they not want to do the original free songs? Fire And Water, and the Stones cover Honky Tonk. Other than Women, the set consisted of songs that were unfamiliar to the audience at the time, such as numbers from "Heartbreaker" released the following year and unreleased songs, but Rodgers, who was singing passionately with a guitar in hand, seemed to be recovering from illness. Kirk, who plays incredibly heavy drums, and Rabbit, who captivates the listener with his presence-filled play, and Yamauchi's four-man band ensemble, which is only available at this time of year, is very tasteful right now. In Unseen Love, Rabbit serves as the lead vocalist, and in the interlude, he makes full use of brass instruments (tube labels) to create a unique sound world (this part is a must-see part in the TV video). In this new master, 2 Like the song After the performance of Water, the people around the recorder said, ``I can't see you at all'', ``I can see you, but'', and after Lady, there was a sad conversation, ``The camera is in the way, I can't see the drums'', ``I can't see the guitar at all''. I can hear it, and I'm not sure if it's far or close to the stage, but the sound quality is thick and well recorded, and it's satisfying to listen to. As mentioned above, at the 2 minute and 30 second mark of Heartbreaker, it switches to the previously released take, and the clapping becomes loud from that part. Previous releases have been recorded with clear and organized sounds, so collectors don't have to part with them, but this take, which appeared for the first time, also has a natural texture that gives it a different feel from previous releases. It's a gem, and I'd like enthusiasts to add it to their collection. Unlike the free legend's first visit to Japan in 1971 and the Badkan Budokan performance in 1975, the performance in Japan in the summer of 1972 was a very unique performance for Rogers & Kirk, which was held at a time when the band was reorganizing. There is no doubt that this was an important performance in the history of Western music entertainment in Japan.
