FOREIGNER dominated the world in 1978, with the smash hits "FOREIGNER" and "DOUBLE VISION." This FM radio album captures the spirit of the era and its live performances. This release features a stereo soundboard recording from their April 27, 1978 London performance. 1978 also brings back fond memories of their legendary first visit to Japan, and the recent unearthed live album "LIVE AT THE RAINBOW '78" and soundboard album "PHILADELPHIA 1978" have also garnered significant buzz. To better understand the situation, let's first take a look at their activities at the time.・February 3rd-7th: North America #1 (5 shows) ("DOUBLE VISION" completed in March) ・March 18th: Appearance at CALIFORNIA JAM II ・March 30th-April 5th: First visit to Japan (4 shows) ・April 11th-16th: Australia (4 shows) ・April 20th-27th: Europe (5 shows) ←★Here★ ・April 30th: Manhattan ・May 24th-June 17th: North America #2 (13 shows) ("DOUBLE VISION" released on June 20th) ・June 30th-August 26th: North America #3 (31 shows) ・August 27th: Appearance at Reading Festival ・September 7th-December 3rd: North America #4 (39 shows) ←※PHILADELPHIA 1978 This is FOREIGNER in 1978. Their legendary first visit to Japan took place at the end of March, shortly after the completion of "DOUBLE VISION," but this London performance was the final day of the "European" leg, about three weeks later. In fact, this was their first UK performance. For Mick Jones, Ian McDonald, and Dennis Elliott, it was also a triumphant return night for their smash-hit band. As some of you may already know, this show was officially released as "LIVE AT THE RAINBOW '78." This release is not a copy... it's the same show, but the FM version broadcast on the legendary radio program "King Biscuit Flower Hour." Of course, the radio broadcast version has long been a staple, but this is the latest version. It was recently released by the prestigious excavation company "Krw_co," and is a reel master copied from the pre-broadcast LP master. The sound is natural and beautiful. Originally from a master LP, the rich analog feel is superb, with no traces of dubbing or aging visible, creating a refreshingly refreshing experience. Every note of every instrument stands out beautifully, without the digital sting of the official CD. The dynamism isn't created by processing, but rather by the meticulous preservation of every last detail, creating a three-dimensional feel. The master sound, recorded in analog, flows directly from the speakers. This natural sound portrays the band's triumphant return to their hometown, buoyed by the confidence of their smash hit. The approximately 50-minute broadcast time slot is shorter than the official CD, but that's what makes it even more intense. Let's take a look at the selection here: Glorious Departure (5 songs), The Damage Is Done, Starrider, Cold As Ice, Feels Like The First Time, Headknocker, Double Vision (2 songs), Hot Blooded, Double Vision... This album mixes roughly half of the original "FOREIGNER" album with the previously unreleased "Hot Blooded" and "Double Vision." The exclusive "The Damage Is Done," exclusive to the six-member band, is also a delight. While it lacks the volume of the official 12-track release, this release is irresistibly reminiscent of the era. It's also a time machine album that transports you to 1978 with just a single listen. The six-member FOREIGNER exude a triumphant energy. This is a stereo soundboard recording of the April 27, 1978 London concert. This version of "King Biscuit Flower Hour" is different from the official "LIVE AT THE RAINBOW '78" release, and is a reel master copied from the master LP before it was broadcast. Originally from a master LP, it offers a rich analog feel, natural and beautiful. This time machine album truly brings their first UK concert back to life with the master sound recorded in analog.
