Firm /Radeioactive UK 12” Single

A rare single by THE FIRM is reissued. This work is a digital version of the UK 12-inch single "RADIOACTIVE", which was released in 1985 as a pre-album single. The biggest point is the rare track "Radioactive (Special Mix)", which has not been released on CD. At the time, this song attracted attention as a representative song of the album, but it is more than three minutes longer than the album version, which was 2:49. The single "RADIOACTIVE" was released in various countries on 7-inch and 12-inch discs, but this remix/version was included on the UK 12-inch single titled "Radioactive (Special Mix)". In the album version, the song starts immediately with the drum beat and acoustic guitar strokes, but the remix version has a much longer intro and a completely different impression. Overall, it is a disco-style remix, which was at its peak at the time. It is also known as a song in which Paul Rodgers played a guitar solo, but in this work, Tony Franklin's bass is a major feature. Although the album version also featured an impressive fretless bass, this version even features a large bass solo in the middle. This bass solo is also very funky. Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers were the focus of attention as a unit, but the "Franklin Mix" clearly shows that Tony was also an important element. In addition, this work also reprints two live takes of the single's B-side. This is a take of the classic pro shot "December 9, 1984 Hammersmith Performance". Although it is only two songs, you can listen to the official live take with a perfect official mix. THE FIRM, which had a luxurious collaboration project and a powerful rhythm section, ended up being very short-lived with only two albums. Whether it is Rodgers or Page, it is unlikely that this project will be reprinted on a large scale from now on, and these gems of a take may remain in the "know-only" situation.
