A reprint of an ultra-rare and vintage reel-to-reel version. This is one of Eric Clapton's ``vintage reprint projects.'' This CD is the Ampeg open reel version of Clapton's solo debut album "ERIC CLAPTON" released in the United States in 1970. Similar to the other work released this time, "DELANEY AND BONNIE AND FRIENDS ON TOUR WITH ERIC CLAPTON," reel-to-reel was one of the formats for listening to music at home from the late 1960s to the 70s, and cassette tapes. Because it was a wider tape than the previous one, there was naturally a large allowance for recording sound information, and it had great advantages, such as stereo recording with good sound, and due to its structure, no scratch noise like records. It disappeared from the market earlier than cassette tapes due to the hassle, difficulty of skipping songs, and high price. This extremely rare reel work, which was released in 1970, was now available along with "DELANEY AND BONNIE AND FRIENDS ON TOUR WITH ERIC CLAPTON". We hope that you will enjoy the analog and warm sound that brings back that era with this edition. [The recording level and sound pressure, which are different from records and CDs, are attractive! ] Upon release, this edition has been digitized in the same state as it was recorded on the open reel tape. When I checked the contents in detail, I found that unlike the US record released in the same year, the recording level of the A side varied depending on the song, but it was not adjusted. In particular, the sound pressure of 2-4TRK was too far to the right, but this seems to be the right balance, so I left it as is. The sound pressure on the B side is stable, but when playing the reel, both sides were played under the same conditions. In other words, our intention is to leave it as it was released at the time and let you enjoy this unique format from that era. I don't know why there was such a difference only in the reel version of this work. However, now it can be said that extremely rare and vintage open reels can be enjoyed, including these mysteries. ``ERIC CLAPTON'' was Eric Clapton's first solo album, released in August 1970. It is a well-known fact that there are three types of mixes, but this work, like the regular US ATCO record, was mixed by Tom Dowd, the famous producer who produced that "LAYLA AND OTHER ASSORTED LOVE SONGS". It has been adopted. Currently, all three types of mixes have been officially released, and it is now possible to enjoy the differences between each mix, but it can be said that this Tom Dowd mix is the smartest and least manipulated (others In the mix, you can see some trickery, such as adding rehearsal sounds and counts, and adding echo to the vocals.) This time, you can listen to it with the unique sound balance and sound pressure of the extremely rare open reel format. It can be said that this year was the year when Clapton's first solo album caused a stir, but at the end the main board was about to appear. I hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy Clapton's first solo with the warm, analog sound of that era. This is the first time in history that original reel tapes have been digitized.
