From Eric Clapton's 1983 "Money and Cigarettes US Tour", we will deliver the stereo soundboard source of the St. Louis performance on February 18th in the highest sound quality ever. This sound source has been leaked among tape traders and has also been uploaded on the internet in recent years. In the past, it was released as a bonus with the press CD title "ERIC CLAPTON - SPEEDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY" ("RUSHING 'ROUND" 2CDR), but this label has acquired all of the existing sound sources. It is a superior low generation master. Originally, there was only one type of PA output, so three songs from the opening "After Midnight" to "I Shot The Sheriff" and "Worried life blues" are not recorded, and the ending of "Blues Power" is missing. That doesn't change, but you'll be surprised by the improvement in sound quality. By applying our label's unique high-quality mastering to the original master, we have achieved a further upgrade from the original master. This day was the second live performance after the Dallas performance on February 15th, when drummer Roger Hawkins was suddenly replaced by former Tulsa Tops member Jamie Oldaker. Perhaps due to the sudden member change, the new songs from "Money and Cigarettes" were narrowed down to two songs, "Slow Down Linda" and "I've Got A Rock n' Roll Heart," and this style has been established ever since. It is considered to be one of the earliest performances. A completely new band performance is presented here, so much so that you can feel how much the groove changes if the drums change. As far as Clapton is concerned, having an all-day car with whom he knows a lot and is used to it seems to have helped him play even more brilliantly. The all-day car drums, which liven up the songs with a lot of effort and make decisions at key points, are probably the biggest factor that led to the success of this tour. Also in this touring band was Stax's famous session bassist Donald Duck Dunn, who passed away during a tour in Japan this year. The blues numbers you hear with him and the all-day car rhythm section are also overwhelming in their robustness. Furthermore, the keyboardist is Chris Stinton, who is currently working with Clapton. It can be said that the lineup, which included guitarist Albert Lee, who brought a country flavor here, was the time when Clapton's solo career was most reminiscent of the southern United States. Excellent audience sources have also been released from this tour, but please enjoy the only real sound source as the soundboard title of the spring 1983 US tour at the highest level of sound quality.
