The best audience shot footage of the latest European tour, the Royal Albert Hall performance! From Eric Clapton's latest 2024 European tour that has finally begun, here is the release of a wonderful audience shot video of the first day of the Royal Albert Hall performance in London, held on May 20th! Last week, we released a high-quality stereo audience master of the Liverpool performance on the second day of the tour, May 14th, as "Liverpool 2024", which has been well received, but this week we are introducing a video that allows you to visually enjoy the entire tour stage. It is recorded with really beautiful image quality, good sound, and impeccable excellent quality. The angle was shot from the second floor stand on the right side of the stage, with no obstacles in front. The pull-out shot shows the entire stage vertically, and if you zoom in, you can enjoy a large image of Clapton's waist up. Clapton is wearing a gray shirt and a gray suit. He also plays the Stratocaster painted in the colors of the Palestinian flag, which he used at the "SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)" (the video has already been released on DVD at our store), a charity concert to support Gaza last December. As mentioned in the review of "Liverpool 2024," the set list has been significantly changed from the previous tour, which is a major attraction of this tour, and many rare numbers are set in from newly written new songs. Fans will be very happy just to be able to watch the latest stage with this high-quality video. The only change in band members is that the keyboard has been replaced by Paul Carrack, and Tim Carmon, a familiar figure in the Clapton band, but the rest is the same as last year's tour. Therefore, the encore number has changed from High Time We Went, which featured Carrack in recent years! Surrounded by reliable and talented members who perform solid performances, Clapton is showing a very fulfilling performance, including a surprise. This is a wonderful video that is perfectly recorded from the scene where they appear on stage to the final scene where all the members say their goodbyes. Please enjoy it. The unexpected set list, which is different from last year's tour, is attractive! As expected of Clapton. Even at the age of 79, he started the tour in good health and showed a great stage in his hometown of London! Moreover, instead of the same old set of the past few years, he changed the set list, including a surprise. First of all, the opening was surprising. This instrumental song, titled Blue Dust, was dedicated to Jeff Beck, who passed away last year, and was a variation of Blue Rainbow, which was first performed at a performance in Japan in April of the same year! I can't believe he was already working on a variation of a new song that hasn't even been officially recorded yet... This alone shows Clapton's vigorous creativity. Before the third song, Hoochie Coochie Man, there is a scene where the great guitarist John McLaughlin announces to the audience that he is coming to see this concert and calls for applause. The surprises continue. Unlike the Liverpool performance, Badge is played in the fourth song. The final song of the first half of the electric set is a new song, Prayer of a Child. This song is an instrumental song "Voice Of A Child" that was played at the beginning of the aforementioned "SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)" with new lyrics. Since it is a song with a strong message for children suffering from the ravages of war, Clapton wanted everyone to hear it as soon as possible. Moving on to the acoustic set, he starts by announcing that this day is the 91st birthday of Clapton's aunt, Sylvia, and singing Happy Birthday (Clapton included a song, Son & Silvia, dedicated to Sylvia and her late husband, Uncle Adrian, on his 2001 album "REPTILE"). In this section, the title number from the 2005 album "BACK HOME", Back Home, is played. This song was also a super rare song that was only played at the beginning of the 2006 tour. Perhaps this song also contains feelings for the people of Gaza who lost their homes. The first song after the electric set was the powerful Dominos number, Got to Get Better in a Little While. It was also featured in the aforementioned "SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)" for the first time in a long time, and Clapton was able to enjoy a dynamic performance for the first time in a long time, so it is thought that he included it in the set. Sonny Emory's outstanding stick handling is also wonderful here. From here, Clapton plays a dark blue Strat. After this, he plays the famous song from his Blind Faith days, Presence of the Lord. This is a number that he hadn't played since the Japan tour with Steve Winwood in 2011. It's been 13 years since the last set. I can't believe I can hear this song again... This version, supported by Doyle Bramhall on another guitar, is also quite good. Just when I thought there would be no more surprises, Nathan East plays a song written by Lyle Mays, Close To Home, as a special performance for this day, as a prologue before Cocaine. And there was still a surprise at the very end. The encore was Clapton's favorite blues song, Before You Accuse Me. Listening to this, you can see that the artist Clapton put together a set list thinking of many things and many people. Of course, the most fundamental desire is to play, but it seems that he wants to show it with his own feelings. A lost best friend, a world of constant war, an admired bluesman, his career so far. This set list and this live performance are the result of various thoughts coming and going in Clapton's heart. Please note that, like the Liverpool performance, Layla and Wonderful Tonight are not included. Does this mean that love songs are no longer necessary to express the current Clapton? Nevertheless, he has created a fulfilling stage.
