In commemoration of Eric Clapton's visit to Japan in 2016, this is the fourth release of the treasured original master of the British heavyweight Taper! This is also the first sound source! This edition goes back in time (the previous works were Holland 98, LA 87, Detroit 87), and is a complete recording of the monaural audience source of the 17th performance, the final day of the 3 consecutive performances at Hammersmith Odeon in London in May 1980. This sound source has not been released in Japan so far, and there is only a bootleg version of it based on a cassette master distributed among tape traders in Europe. This is the original master of this title, which was rated ``3'' out of 6 points on the famous site Geetarz, which is an index of bootleg sound quality evaluation by enthusiasts. This is because, according to this taper, he was unable to use the high-end recording equipment he normally used at the time, so he had to use a replacement device, and the sound quality was not that great. It was a difficult point, and the source with multiple generations was leaked among tape traders, so it must have been given such a low rating. However, the one we obtained this time was the first in Japan, and the recorder himself was this taper, so we were able to borrow the original master of the first generation. When I listened to this, I thought that even at the time of the original master, it was at a fairly sufficient level for collectors to appreciate, since it was well above the 2CD title. However, at our store, we worked on mastering it because we wanted to make the release with an even higher quality sound and make the fans happy since it was the first sound source. The original sound was all fluffy, the vocals were buried in it, and the drum sound also gave the impression of being deep, but our professional staff lowered the mid-to-low range to reduce the sound pressure. I turned it up and transformed it into a crisp sound. This adjustment resulted in an increase in hiss, so we were able to reduce it to a level that did not affect the song, and succeeded in bringing the performance and vocals to the forefront. As a result, if this board were to be evaluated on Geetarz, I think it would get 4.5 or 5 out of 6 points. We've made that much of an upgrade. This sound source was recorded on the British tour of this year, and until now, the audience source of the Guilford performance where Jeff Beck flew in the next day was famous as a previously released version. The tour members are the lineup that leads to the album "ANOTHER TICKET", and are from the time when former Procol Harum's Gary Brooker was enrolled and the members were all British. Due to his addition, the setlist was changed from 1979's "JUST ONE NIGHT", and Layla was dropped from the set, and Brooker's lead vocal number was included in three songs instead. This is a rare set (Thunder And Lightning, Leave The Candle, Home Loving). There are also two songs featuring Albert Lee. For Clapton, by having the leader of a famous band that has been the backbone of British rock and a famous guitarist who is an old acquaintance, it can be said that it was a tour where he showed special arrangements to the members by treating them as equals to himself. In that sense, in addition to listening to the numbers in which Clapton provided exquisite backing during his tour as a leader, he was also very impressed with the ``New Year's Eve Dance,'' which became customary to be held on New Year's Eve in later years. It can be said that it is a set similar to that of the original, and the stage is developed as if it were being performed in a pub, with a relaxed atmosphere unique to the local UK. In addition, British pub rock duo Chas & Dave, who are friends with Clapton and were chosen as the opening act for this tour, jumped in for the encore, singing four songs and joining the performance, which set the mood. It's doubling. First of all, it can be said that it is something that would not be possible in Japan or America. For that reason, it is a master that deserves attention as the first sound source of a rare tour, and it can be asserted that this is the only one that has improved the sound quality of this sound source to the highest grade ever. This is the first appearance of a rare master that not only Clapton fans but also Procol Harum fans can't miss. Please enjoy the good old British mood with this album.
