On July 8, 2018, following two performances in Germany, Eric Clapton appeared as a headliner at the outdoor festival titled "British Summertime" held in Hyde Park, London, and attracted an audience of 65,000 people. The full stage of Eric Clapton was recorded in the perfect position of the Diamond Circle and Center Stage, and the sound source uploaded to the Internet by a person who recorded it at the Diamond Circle and Center Stage. We will quickly remaster and polish it and release it. The original recording by the person who uploaded it was auto-limited, and the whole impression was unclear. In particular, the bass was blurred with no contour and a feeling of flowing. We remastered it with the image of adding an edge to all the sounds, and raised it to the superb sound quality that pierces the sky of Hyde Park. This almost eliminates the sense of incongruity of the auto-limiter. The superb sound quality of "Stockholm 1985", released at the same time this week, has a texture like a sound board, but the main feature of this board is the power of the venue recording that fully demonstrates the pleasure of stereo audience recording. There is some audience noise, but the musical tones are so close that it doesn't bother me much. The main feature of this album is the "clearness" of Sonny Amory's drum sound. It's amazing. His amazing technique and power give each song a tight feel. The sound quality is something that can be proudly called "excellent." Now, let's follow the trajectory of Clapton's live performances this year.・January 23, 2018: Full stage at a private event in Paris, France ・May 26, 2018: Appeared at a festival in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA ・July 2, 2018: Performance in Cologne, Germany ・July 3, 2018: Performance in Hamburg, Germany ・July 8, 2018: Appeared at a festival in Hyde Park, London, UK【This work】 This year, Clapton has been performing live at intervals so as not to push himself too hard, but he must have recovered his health, as he performed three shows in a row in July. Meanwhile, Clapton maintained the good form he showed at the German performance and played freely in Hyde Park under sunny skies. The set list was also conscious of the guest's sudden appearance, and Lay Down Sally and The Core, which were not played at the two German performances, were revived. The guest was Marcie Levy, a female singer who contributed to these two songs in terms of songwriting and performance on the best-selling and famous album "SLOWHAND" in 1977! Clapton announced, "I'll introduce the person who wrote this song," and Marcie replied, "It's been since 1985 that I've played with him. It's very thrilling." In other words, it was the year of the Stockholm performance released this week (please also look forward to "Stockholm 1985"). 33 years have passed since then, and Clapton has aged a lot (lol), but Marcie looks almost the same as she did back then and shows off her undiminished voice. You can hear Marcie's harmonica solo in Lay Down Sally. Yes, she was good at blues harp (I miss her playing on "Knocking on Heaven's Door" in the 1970s). When you listen to The Core, you'll think that it's the highlight of the day because Clapton's playing is so high-tension that it sounds different from the 1977 Japan performance, but there were other highlights of the day. It was Got To Get Better In A Little While and LIttle Queen Of Spades. In the former, Clapton also plays a solo in the middle, and in the latter, he cuts into Doyle Bramhall's solo and plays a sharp solo again. It's a great play reminiscent of the Dominos era. In the latter, you can hear the royal road of rock-solid play. In Cocaine, I was able to hear a solo using the wah pedal for the first time in a long time. There are more highlights, and Carlos Santana jumped in for an encore as a representative of the gorgeous artists who appeared at this festival. It's a fulfilling stage as expected of the festival's big finale. The master who recorded it in full under favorable conditions has been further polished, and this "definitive edition" of Hyde Park will be released within the same month of the performance. If you are a fan who followed Clapton this year from Greenwich in May and experienced his energetic appearance at the two German performances, you will be very satisfied with this Hyde Park performance, which captures the performance with the finest sound quality. For now, Clapton will settle down with this live performance and prepare for the next two performances at Madison Square Garden in October. He will be in good spirits there again. Will the set list change? Until then, we hope you will enjoy your time with our two German performances and the main board at Hyde Park.
