An unreleased complete high-quality audience master of one of Clapton's peaks, the Journeyman Tour, has appeared! Eric Clapton's 1990 Journeyman Tour was a stage that was completely electric and rocked from beginning to end, without an acoustic set in the middle, and Clapton's performance there was considered to be one of the peaks in his long career. In addition, his long hair and Gianni Versace dress suit without glasses made him look very cool, and it was a particularly popular tour. In the past, there was a famous multi-track soundboard sound source of the four-piece band on the first and 24th of the year, which was broadcast on BBC (released as Royal Albert Hall 1990 6th Night Multitrack Master (2CD)), and the US tour, the first leg, "Costa Messa 1990 (2CD)" and "L.A. Forum 1990 Remaster (2CD)", but the good sound source of the US tour, the second leg, was not excavated at all. However, suddenly, a wonderful complete audience master of the second leg of the US tour on July 28th, the Atlanta performance, appeared. What we obtained this time is our own original master, from an overseas taper who has been providing us with their own high-quality masters in recent years, and has never been released before. On the overseas artist bootleg evaluation site "Geetarz", there is a CD boot of this day that is close to a privately made one, which is thought to have been released only overseas, but the sound quality rating of that is "3 (fair, not so good)", but the master of this work is completely different. If we were to evaluate the sound quality, it would be "4 (good)", and it is a clear sound that has definitely been upgraded by one rank or more. The sound quality of the original master was also at a good level, but in our shop, we remastered and adjusted the sound pressure to make it even easier to listen to, and upgraded it. At the time of the original master, the start of recording seems to have been delayed, and the opening has been cut in, but we thought about compensating with the sound source of another performance at our shop, but we decided to release it as it is because we thought that inserting a different performance from the beginning would be boring and would damage the value of the original sound source. Because of this drawback, it will be released on CDR, but it is a full-fledged first-time release sound source with both sound quality and performance content. Moreover, we assert that it is a sound source worth listening to as a high-quality valuable sound source that captures the rare second leg. Clapton playing at 45 years old. The set list is attractive! Let's take a look back at the dates of the 1990 "Journeyman Tour" (" " " indicates the high quality title of the release) November 7, 1989: Album "JOURNEYMAN" released January 14 to February 10: UK tour including 18 consecutive nights of performances "18 Nights" at the Royal Albert Hall in London... "Royal Albert Hall 1990 6th Night Multitrack Master (2CD)", "Blues Night (2CDR)", "Orchestra Night Definitive Edition (2CD)" February 14 to March 5: European tour including Scandinavia... "Essen 1990 (2CD)" March 24 to May 5: First leg of the American tour... "Costa Messa 1990 (2CD)", "L.A. Forum 1990 Remaster (2CD)" ・June 6th: Won the "International Rock Award" at the Armory in Lexington, New York... "International Rock Award 1990 Rehearsal (CD)" ・June 30th: Appeared at the "Silver Clef Award Winners Concert" (commonly known as the Knebworth Festival) held in Knebworth, England ・July 21st to September 2nd: Second leg of the American tour ←★This work★ ・September 29th to October 21st: South American tour... "Santiago 1990 FM Rebroadcast (2CD)" ・November 7th to November 29th: Oceania and Southeast Asia tour ・December 4th to December 13th: Japan tour... "Principle Of God (2CD)", "Definition Of Legacy (2CD)", "Terminal Port (2CD)", etc. From this, you can see that 1990 was a year dedicated to promoting the album "JOURNEYMAN" released at the end of the previous year. While incorporating programmed notes and synthesizers, he also covers old blues. It was an album that created "Eric Clapton, a modern active artist" with a variety of approaches, including melting ballads and edgy and intense numbers, so he wanted to show his fans the charm of the album through a world-scale tour. You can see that it was a year that was literally devoted to world tours. Among them, this day was the middle of the second leg, when he was in the middle of the second leg, and ... The set list included six songs from the latest album "JOURNEYMAN" at the time (Pretending, No Alibis, Running On Faith, Bad Love, Before You Accuse Me, Old Love), and you can hear live versions of songs from that famous album. In addition, the ending of I Shot The Sheriff is at a terrifying level, and the wah-wah solo of White Room is also sharp. For some reason, Layla's seven-phrase is used frequently here, which is interesting. Also, the choking of Bad Love is amazing! And in the chorus of the chorus, she easily breaks down the original vocal line and sings. The crying play of Old Love is also very touching. If I were to list all the highlights like this, I would never be able to stop. Although it may sound harsh, it would be fun to compare songs such as White Room, Old Love, Before You Accuse Me, Badge, Wonderful Tonight, Cocaine, Crossroads, and Sunshine Of Your Love, which were also played at the Japan tour that ended in April this year. At this time, Clapton was 45 years old, and it will give you a new appreciation of how well he played 35 years ago. The electric version of Layla, which we didn't get to hear at this Japan tour, is also amazing. This level of performance was performed every day on the "Journeyman Tour". During the band member introduction leading up to the intro to Cocaine, Katie Kissoon, who currently serves as a backing vocalist for Clapton's band, was also there. In the solo of Sunshine Of Your Love that day, he starts with a passage from the standard number Blue Moon and runs through aggressive phrases. It's an interesting stage full of various things to listen to. Clapton himself called them "the best band in the world" and the supporting musicians for this tour only. It can be said that the high quality of this tour was largely due to the talented band members. Nathan East on bass, Greg Phillinganes on keyboards, Steve Ferrone on drums, and Tessa Niles and Katie Kissoon on chorus have been members who have had a trusting relationship with Clapton since "AUGUST" in 1986, and are people who know Clapton's rhythm very well. Phil Palmer on second guitar was a talented player who joined the band in 1989, originally a session man. He was by no means a "successful man," but he is the nephew of the Davis brothers of the Kinks, and his precise and skillful playing, which never made a mistake, greatly supported Clapton. It seems that Clapton scouted him after meeting him at an album session for British singer-songwriter Paul Brady in 1986, and reuniting with him at an album session for producer and artist John Astley in 1988. Keyboardist Alan Clarke was someone whom Clapton borrowed after consulting with his friend Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits when Phillinganes' schedule did not match up during the 1987 Japan tour. He was also good at contrasting and dividing up roles with Guy Fletcher, who was in charge of synths in Dire Straits, so he and Phillinganes were able to separate their roles in Clapton's band perfectly (Phillinganes played piano and synths, while Clarke played mainly organ). And here was Ray Cooper (formerly of the Elton John band), a veteran percussionist in the UK. In the middle of Sunshine Of Your Love, Ferrone and Cooper had a drum and percussion solo battle, and they also did call and response with the audience. The venue was in a frenzy from start to finish. Lakewood Amphitheater, Atlanta, GA. U.S.A. 28th July 1990 PERFECT SOUND (from Original Masters) First appearance, high quality sound source!!!
