Exclusive audience shot footage of the second day of the latest European tour, France, Paris! Eric Clapton's latest 2024 European tour, which was held from May to June and ended successfully. A good audience shot video that fully recorded the second day performance in Paris, France, which was the fourth performance from the end of the 14 performances. This video is an original video obtained exclusively by our shop and is not available on the Internet. It is a completely fixed shot video from the second floor seats located slightly to the left of the stage at the Accord Arena, but the entire view of the stage and the four vertical screens installed on the stage are beautifully and stably stored, so you can enjoy the whole picture of the show without stress (the rightmost screen seems a little flat). You can enjoy the state of the stage and the close-up shots of Clapton and the members featured on the screen at the same time, and the progress of the stage is very clear, and you can also enjoy the variation of the images distributed on the four screens. The audio was also recorded with a microphone built into the camera, but since there were no noisy customers around, it was recorded with good stereo audience recording, and there was no poor sound quality that would make you feel like you were sitting far away. Clapton's appearance is a dark gray shirt and a dark gray suit. He is a dandy. He is playing a Stratocaster painted in the colors of the Palestinian flag, which he used at the "SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)" (the video has already been released on DVD at our store), which was held as a charity concert to support Gaza in December last year. The great attraction of this tour is that the set list was significantly changed from the previous year's tour, and many rare numbers were set in from newly written new songs. Fans will be very happy just to be able to watch the latest stage with this high-quality video. The only change in the band members is that the keyboard has been replaced by Paul Carrack, who has been replaced by Tim Carmon, a familiar member of the Clapton band, and the rest is the same as last year's tour. Therefore, the encore number has changed from High Time We Went, which featured Carrack in recent years! Surrounded by reliable and talented members who perform solid performances, Clapton is showing a very fulfilling performance, including surprises. Please enjoy. The unexpected set list, which is different from last year's tour, is attractive! Looking at the set list for this stage again, the opening was surprising. This instrumental song, titled Blue Dust, was dedicated to Jeff Beck, who passed away last year, and was a variation of Blue Rainbow, which was first performed at the Japan performance in April of the same year! I can't believe he was already working on a variation of a new song that hasn't even been officially recorded yet... This alone shows Clapton's vigorous creativity. Moving on to the acoustic set, the title number from the 2005 album "BACK HOME", Back Home, is played. This song was also a super rare song that was only played at the beginning of the 2006 tour. Perhaps this song also contains thoughts for the people of Gaza who lost their homes. And surprisingly, in this acoustic set, they played the original song Golden Ring from "BACKLESS" released in 1978. This was a number included in the project album "The Lady In The Balcony: Lockdown Sessions", which was recorded live in a studio at an old castle in England in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems that they liked the acoustic arrangement there and performed it at this performance. It was the first time in 46 years since the 1978 tour that they played it in front of an audience. This was one of the highlights of the day, and it was valuable just to be able to see the full performance scene. In Tears In Heaven, which was played on this day, there was a precious moment when Clapton shouted "David Sanborn!" while playing the intro. In other words, this performance on this day was dedicated to his friend, saxophonist David Sanborn, who passed away on May 12. The lyrics of this song were probably applicable to him in heaven. Looking back, Clapton and Sanborn had worked together on many sessions for many years since the soundtrack of the 1986 movie "LEATHAL WEAPON", so his death must have been very sad for Clapton (Sanborn also participated in Clapton's album "JOURNEYMAN", and Clapton also participated in Sanborn's album "UPFRONT", so they were close friends). Clapton's feelings of cherishing his friend along with Jeff Beck are taken into consideration. The first song after returning to the electric set is the powerful Dominos number, Got to Get Better in a Little While. It was also featured for the first time in a long time in the aforementioned "SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)", and Clapton enjoyed playing full of dynamism for the first time in a long time, so it is thought that he set it in. Sonny Emory's outstanding stick handling is also wonderful here. During Emory's drum solo in the middle, it is also fun to see Clapton's figure surrendering to it on the screen. After this, Holy Mother is played. This song was played for the first time in five years since the 2019 tour. This song, which asks the Virgin Mary to come and pick him up quickly, may also be said to be a message to those who have been hurt or lost their families in the war. As unexpected numbers are played one after another, the next song played, Crossroads, is arranged in a boogie version. Playing in this arrangement is very rare and has never been played in this version before. This is the second time on this tour, following the second day of the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 21st. This is worth a listen. Just when I thought there would be no more surprises, Nathan East plays a song written by Lyle Mays, Close To Home, as a prologue before Cocaine as a special production. And there was still a surprise at the very end. In the encore, Clapton's favorite blues song, Before You Accuse Me, is played. When the members take turns playing solos and Clapton returns, he plays a part of Hideaway. Then he goes into the singing part. It's a very stylish composition, and blues fans will be happy without thinking. After the encore, all the members line up in a row to bow, but before they line up, Clapton has a warm hug with Doyle Bramhall. You can really feel how grateful Clapton is for Doyle's good support. As an aside, in the second chorus of Hoochie Coochie Man, Clapton seems to have forgotten the lyrics, so he makes up his own lyrics and sings them. This rare mistake makes this Paris performance enjoyable. Even when watching this Paris performance, you can see that the artist Clapton put together the set list for this tour with many things and many people in mind. Of course, the underlying feeling was that he wanted to play these songs, but it seems that he also wanted to perform them with his own feelings. His lost best friend, a world of constant war, his admired bluesman, his career so far. This set list and this fulfilling live performance were the result of various thoughts going through Clapton's mind. It was also unusual for him to not play Wonderful Tonight and Layla on this tour.
