The full recording of the Lyon, France performance on May 29th from the 2024 Euro Tour, from the high-quality audience master released by Taper, lasts for 1 hour and 34 minutes. This is a completely different recording from the already distributed sound source, and the recording with the latest digital equipment is clear and has a good sound balance, the drum sound is powerful, and the balance of Clapton's guitar and vocals is perfect. And like the later South American tour, this tour has a lot of changes in the set content from the past, and here too it starts with this instrumental number titled "Blue Dust". This is a variation of "Blue Rainbow", which was dedicated to Beck, who passed away the previous year, and was first performed at the Japan performance in April of the same year, and it has already become a big topic because it has not even been officially recorded yet. And the first half electric set is also decorated with the new song "Prayer of a Child", which was released with new lyrics to the instrumental song that was played at the venue at the beginning of the Gaza support charity concert in December of the previous year. In addition, the acoustic set featured an acoustic arrangement of "Golden Ring" from "BACKLESS," which was played live for the first time in 46 years since the 1978 tour. After returning to electric, they played a Dominos number, and "That's Alright," which was played as an encore at the Liverpool concert on this tour, appeared again here. In addition, Lyle Mays' "Close To Home" was played by Nathan East as a prologue before "Cocaine," and the encore ended with Clapton's favorite blues "Before You Accuse Me," just like the previous Paris concert, making for a very diverse set every day. It was surprising that the two major classics, "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight," were left out of the tour, but the performances were so fulfilling that they didn't feel out of place, and this is a must-listen item for fans who can look forward to their next visit to Japan.
