The second performance from the 2024 Euro Tour, the performance in Liverpool, UK on May 11th, was recorded in full for 1 hour and 38 minutes from the digital audience master released by Taper. The first thing that became a topic of conversation was the drastic change in the set list, including the performance in Japan last year, with several rare numbers from newly written songs set in, which is a dramatic change for Clapton, who has not changed his set list much in recent years. This is evident from the opening, with this instrumental song titled "Blue Dust", a variation of "Blue Rainbow" dedicated to Beck, who passed away the previous year, and first performed at the Japan performance in April of the same year, and a variation of a new song that has not yet been officially recorded yet, already performed as the first song. And another surprise is the fourth song, "Presence of the Lord", which is the first set in 13 years since the Japan tour with Steve Winwood in 2011. The first half of the electric set ended with a new song, "Prayer of a Child," an instrumental track that was played at the beginning of a charity concert for Gaza in December of the previous year, with new lyrics. The title track from 2005's "BACK HOME" was also a rare track that was only played at the beginning of the 2006 tour, and the cover of Gerry & the Pacemakers' "You'll Never Walk Alone" was also performed for the first time in Japan. After returning to the electric set, they performed the Dominos number "Got to Get Better in a Little While," which they hadn't performed in a long time, and "You Were There" from the album "Pilgrim," which they performed live for the first time in 26 years, an ultra-rare number that they had only performed once before. The encore ended with Jimmy Rodgers' "That's All Right," a song that Clapton respects, a pattern that had never been seen before. As a result, it was surprising that the two classics "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight" were not included in the set. This is a must-listen item for fans who want to know the current Clapton.
