``THE CORE,'' a title representing the SLOWHAND tour that was released five years ago and has been out of print for a long time, is now available as a remastered version. From the North American tour that began in February 1978, the first day of the tour, February 1st, in Vancouver, Canada, is completely recorded in ultra-high quality stereo audience recording. This tour, which started well in advance of the album release after the previous year's Japan tour, was held for about two months from February to April, and was a perfect match for the strong sales of "SLOWHAND" in the United States. Due to the synergistic effect, it became a representative tour of the 70's, but with the sound board sound source of the 2/11 performance as the only standard, the other performances are still almost unknown. This item captures the memorable first day performance from that tour with the perfect sound quality that you could not hope for as an audience recording. All songs from "SLOWHAND" except "May You Never" were performed, and in addition to this tour's blues number "DOUBLE TROUBLE", "Have You Ever Loved A Woman", which includes "Going Down Slow", was included in the set. “Nobody Knows You...” is the first day performance with a special set, such as Clapton himself taking the vocals, but what is noteworthy is the overwhelming performance content that even the set contents are hazy. A number of Clapton's phrases are played while Jamie's rhythm consistently dominates the stage. The tone that cuts in with the perfect stepping angle in "The Core" and the solo that screams in the second half, the impeccable play of "Badge" that is inspired by Jamie's sensuous fill, and the flawless play of "Mean Old". Frisco's squeezing slide guitar, 'Let It' In "Rain," you can hear a play that completely blows everything away with just the sustain in the second half, which can be considered a violation, and in the blues tune, you can hear a number of gem phrases that skillfully combine the amp set toward crunch and wah. , the performance continues to draw the listener in, with a sense of tension throughout the entire stage. Although the sound quality is different between the board and the audience, the entire performance is recorded with perfect sound that gives the impression that it surpasses the standard 2/11 performance. The key points of the remaster are alleviating excessive bass, removing hiss noise to the extent that it does not impair the original sound, adjusting the overall sound pressure, merging by reducing the difference in the tape change section, and the last three songs on disc 2 each lasting over 10 seconds each. We have restored the parts where the sound becomes monaural one by one to make it as natural as possible. Since the source is originally a high-quality sound, there is no dramatic improvement in the sound quality, but the outline is clearer, and there is no noticeable hiss noise due to adjusting the sound pressure for each song, making the overall sound a smarter upgrade. It's finished. Although it has been out of print for a long time, it is still a representative performance of the 1978 Slow Hand Tour, and a title that will become a bible for exploring Clapton's play during this period.
