Robbie Robertson Memorial Concert, Clapton's set video is already here! Eric Clapton, who completed his latest South American to North American tour, hosted "Life Is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson" after the tour and decided it would be his last activity of the year. The set video of the Clapton band for this memorial concert held in Los Angeles on October 17th has already been released. Because there were so many performers who wanted to remember Robbie, Clapton's set was only five songs, but it perfectly shows the stage that all fans wanted to know. In the sense of a tribute concert, it is interesting that the stage is a little cramped, rather than the usual stage size and set decoration of Clapton's concerts. Since the screen is shot with a fixed camera, you can enjoy it as a pseudo-pro shot video. In addition, the sound is also good with a good stereo audience recording, so there is no problem at all. Clapton's looks are neat, with a gray shirt and gray suit. There may have been a balance with the repertoire of the other performers, but interesting numbers were selected. An interesting set list, Clapton's own tribute to Robbie The five songs selected for Clapton's set were very interesting. Naturally, it was expected that it would be only Robbie's songs by The Band, but Further on up the Road was also played. This is because this song was a number that Clapton and Robbie performed together at The Band's breakup memorial concert "The Last Waltz" in 1976. For Clapton, playing such a memorable number would stir up more feelings for Robbie, rather than simply playing Robbie's favorite number. Furthermore, The Shape I'm In is a song sung by the late Richard Manuel, who Clapton and Robbie had said were good friends. Clapton had played this song on past tours as well. It seems that it was also a way of remembering Richard at the same time. And the last song, Chest Fever, featured organist Garth Hudson, and this song was a memorable number that Clapton performed with The Band, who was the opening act at the Rich Stadium performance in Orchard Park, New York on July 6th during Clapton's comeback US tour in 1974. At this time, Clapton borrowed Robbie's sub Telecaster to play this song. Five songs that were chosen with various memories. Maybe other songs also contained Clapton's memories with Robbie. Naturally, Clapton and the band performed a high-quality performance that was worth listening to. This is a wonderful item that allows you to quickly appreciate Clapton's set at the Robbie Robertson Memorial Concert held on October 17th.
