Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton recently toured Japan at the same time. Unfortunately, the two did not perform together in Japan, but here we bring you the original master source of the precious studio collaboration session of the two! This is the entire story of the soundtrack recording session for the movie ``HEARTS OF FIRE'' starring Dylan, which was suddenly carried out in 1986 by Dylan, who was in England. This time, we obtained a DAT that was digitally copied directly from the master reel of this sound source from an important taper living in the UK. The sound source of this session has been released in the past, but in the era it was a cassette tape master. As a result, the hiss noise peculiar to cassette tapes covered the whole story. If you listen to this version, the silent part before each song starts playing does not contain any of the hiss that was heard on the previously released version. As expected, it can be said that he is a master of digital direct drop. Although the number of songs recorded is the same as the previously released edition, it can be said that the vividness of this session, which can be heard with the clear sound quality that can be said to be official quality, cannot be experienced on the previously released edition. The sessions were produced and engineered by Beau Hill on August 27th and 28th, 1986 at London's Townhouse Studio. According to Clapton, ``Bob suddenly called me and asked me to participate in the recording'' a few days before the session. It can be said that it is typical of Clapton, who has a deep friendship with Bob that he rushes to the sudden call. Moreover, due to the same circumstances, it was difficult to arrange a bass player, and it was a surprising fact that Ronnie Wood, who happened to have a free schedule, was called upon to play bass. It was the first time he had played bass since the Jeff Beck Group in the late '60s. Furthermore, it was the first time he and Clapton collaborated in the studio since the recording session for Clapton's album “NO REASON TO CRY” in 1976. Henry Spinetti, who was Britain's leading session drummer at the time, was called in to play drums. Fans probably know that Spinetti was also a member of Clapton's Japan tour band. This session was made possible by summoning these big and talented people with just a phone call. All takes are complete takes by all members, making it worth listening to. You can also hear Dylan's trial-and-error efforts in Had A Dream About You, Baby, where he changes the rhythm pattern all the time, starting with the clumsy takes in the early stages and increasing the degree of perfection with each performance. The guitars are played by just Dylan and Clapton, so it's easy to tell them apart. As expected, it is Clapton's sharp obbligato that really excites the song. As expected of a guitarist, Ronnie's bass line plays out a beautifully lyrical bass line. This is the main version that delivers the highest sound quality in the history of this session sound source. This is a valuable title release that should be listened to not only by Dylan fans and Clapton fans, but also by Stones fans. Please don't miss it.
