[2-disc set of the best complete footage of Eric Clapton's latest European tour!] From Eric Clapton's latest European tour, the best audience shot complete footage of the 2-day performance held in Amsterdam, Netherlands on June 7th and 8th has been urgently released on 2 discs! As fans may know, Clapton was infected with the coronavirus immediately after the release of the Royal Albert Hall performance in London on May 7th and 8th, and was forced to postpone the initial stage of the planned tour. Even if the announcement of the postponement was unavoidable, fans around the world were worried about the impact of the coronavirus infection on the elderly Clapton, the risk to his life, whether he would recover, and what aftereffects would he have even if he recovered. Fortunately, he returned to the tour safely from the Berlin performance on May 29th, relieving fans. After that, the tour progressed smoothly and reached this Amsterdam performance (the postponed performance was rescheduled to the fall). On the first day, June 7th, the shot was taken from the second floor stand directly to the right of the stage, with no obstacles in front of it, and it was a beautiful image with a slightly downward angle of the stage. With Clapton at the center, keyboardist Paul Carrack was captured above, and piano player Chris Stinton was captured below, with Doyle Bramhall and other members taking solos, and each member was zoomed in for a close-up shot. Of course, Clapton himself was always captured with a close-up shot of his upper body, so you could see his profile as he played. There was no blackout between songs, and the camera never turned in the wrong direction, and it was an excellent image that was stable and stress-free from start to finish. The sound was also recorded with a very good stereo audience recording, with the sound of the hall being felt, and although the occasional conversation and throat-clearing of the audience to the right of the photographer was captured, the sound was also of high quality and trouble-free. The second day on June 8th is monochrome, but it is a complete recording version of the pro shot, so to speak, that perfectly captures the screenshot. There are no problems with the framing or angle of the screen, there is no distortion of the image, and there is no camera shake at all. The reason for the monochrome is unknown, but the clear image quality of the pro shot allows you to see Clapton up close, which is full of charm different from the first day. As long as it is a pro shot, it is not only a close-up of Clapton from the front, but also a close-up of the guitar when taking a solo, a close-up of each member, and a variety of shots with a pull-out stage image are combined, so you will not get bored. The sound of this day is closer to the musical sound than the first day, and it is captured with a great sound that can be released on CD as it is. The best video of the 2DAYS that perfectly captures the whole picture of the resumed tour. It is a wonderful video that allows you to enjoy the energetic appearance of a professional Clapton who does not feel the slightest influence despite his illness. [The set list that changed from the Royal Albert Hall is also a charm! 】The characteristic of this 2-day performance was that the set list was designed to be less taxing on Clapton's body, taking into consideration his physical condition after his illness. In other words, it was a set list that Clapton could expect to play safely but reliably. At the Berlin performance after his return from COVID, White Room and Smile in an acoustic set were included in the set, but they were cut from this performance and Paul Carrack's number was featured instead. The electric version of Layla played at RAH was also removed here, and it was only played in an acoustic set. Considering the energy consumption of this song, which Clapton himself acknowledges, this is understandable, and it can be said that this measure was unavoidable. That said, it is a good thing that the set list was changed over the two days, and on the first day, Carrack's number was Next Time You See Me, and Clapton's acoustic set blues was Driftin', but on the second day, Carrack's number was How Long, and Clapton's blues was the rare That's All Right. In that sense, the two days have different flavors, so I think you will enjoy it as a two-disc set. Above all, I am happy to be able to see Clapton's play, which has become more energetic over the two days. Considering his advanced age of 77 and his recent illness, it is surprising that he looks incredibly "active" (no one would call this Clapton an "old man"). In the solos of each song, you can see Clapton's typical play, and the solos in the blues numbers guarantee a better than average performance in a place where the burden on the body is no longer relevant, which is what Clapton is all about. In addition, the afterword of I Shot The Sheriff on the first day and the solo of Pretending on the second day have scenes where he piles on particularly aggressive phrases, proving that he is never "rusty". This is a wonderful audience shot video that makes you feel like you went to see Clapton's latest concert, which has resumed its tour in good health, for two consecutive days.
