Elvis Costello's appearance at the 1990 Bridge School Benefit caused a stir. At that time, he had made a fresh start the previous year, and his album ``SPIKE'' and the single ``Veronica'' from the album had become huge hits for Warner, and his popularity in the United States had skyrocketed more than ever before. For that reason, his appearance on Bridge attracted a lot of attention. However, at the time, Costello had broken up with his long-time backing band, the Attractions, and there was no regular backing band (his new band, ``Rude 5'', would start in earnest the following year), so he only performed as a solo acoustic singer. That was the style. What he performed here at the opening was exactly "Veronica". The song was a big hit in America for the reasons mentioned above, so it was okay to grab it while performing at an event. What's more, since the event was hosted by Neil Young, whom he admires, Costello showed his respect for Neil by including his new song "The Ways Of Love", which had just been released at the time, in the middle. is unique to events like this. On the other hand, at the time, Costello was working on his next album for Warner after "SPIKE", "MIGHTY LIKE A ROSE", and it has historical value in that it was the stage where he performed some of the songs that would later be released for the first time. It's also expensive. Those are the two songs "Hurry Down Doomsday (The Bugs Are Taking Over)" and "Couldn't Call It Unexpected No. 4." Among them, the latter is a famous song that decorated the ending of the album, and it is a repertoire that Costello continues to play carefully on stage to this day. That memorable premiere was at a Neil Young event. Since this is the first performance, Costello takes out the piano at various points, but you can still feel that he is carrying on with the new song with great enthusiasm. His set ended with the familiar medley of Van Morrison's cover ``Jackie Wilson Said'' from ``Radio Sweetheart,'' but since he was a major performer at the 1990 Bridge, he responded to the encore with the classic ``Alison Said.'' ” is shown. Moreover, in a rare development, host Neil Young appeared and harmonized with Costello. You can feel Costello's special treatment from Neil's appearance here. In the first place, the fact that Costello's appearance time exceeded 30 minutes suggests that it was an exceptional treatment. Such a valuable stage is due to the same taper as the stage of Neil Young and Crazy Horse, which will be released at the same time. This is an audience album that boasts outstanding sound quality. The only problem that the pitch was high was well adjusted. The opening song "Veronica" has been officially released, but it is an excerpt for an album that summarizes bridge benefits of each generation and is only available for distribution. On the contrary, it is a legendary stage where audience recordings were not even available among Costello traders. Please enjoy this precious stage performance in which valuable performances and collaboration with Neil are condensed into 30 minutes with the best sound quality!
