Elvis Costello Allen Toussaint & Horns Steve Nieve/Netherlands 2007

This 67-minute long video was recorded by the longest master in recent years, showing the performance at the annual "NORTH SEA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2007" held in Rotterdam, Netherlands on July 15th, from the Euro tour in which Costello & Steve Nieve joined Allen Toussaint's band. First of all, this is a DVD of the footage that was released almost in its entirety on the official website in 2024, which was well known in the past but only a few songs were distributed. This is again not the complete version, but two songs, "The River in Reverse" and "On Your Way Down", have been cut, but it is here at a length that can be called the full-length version. Based on the songs from the Costello and Toussaint collaboration album "THE RIVER IN REVERSE" released the previous year, Steve Nieve joins in to develop a wonderful R&B sound, and some of the Costello songs introduced in between are also performed with a natural arrangement. In particular, the Costello numbers at the end of the live performance, "I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down" and "High Fidelity", can be said to be a selection unique to this R&B show, and the performance is full of charm that is different from the duo's visit to Japan in 2024.
