Elton John and Leon Russell, who achieved great success by sending their collaborative album "THE UNION" to No. 3 in the US. Two super-premium pro shots that will replace the official ones will be released at the same time! This work is a special edition of the two simultaneous releases. It is a multi-camera pro shot of the "London performance on October 28, 2010". In the commentary on the sister work "BEACON THEATRE 2010" released at the same time, we looked at the situation at that time based on Elton's schedule, but here we will check the positional relationship of the sister works in the overview of the collaborative project. 2010 "THE UNION Tour" October 16th: Boston performance "THE UNION" released on October 19th * October 19th "BEACON THEATRE 2010" October 20th-24th: USA (3 performances) * October 28th: London performance ← ★ This work ★ November 3rd-21st: USA (10 performances) 2011 February 9th: Late Show With David Letterman appearance April 2nd: Saturday Night Live appearance This is the whole picture of the collaboration project where the two heroes stood side by side. In both 2010 and 2011, the main focus was on their solo activities, but they also performed together in between. The main one was the "THE UNION Tour" with a total of 16 performances. Almost all of the performances were in the United States, with the only exception being the London performance of this work. This show was one act of the BBC-sponsored festival "Electric Proms". In 2010, it was held for three days, with Elton & Leon performing on the first day (note that the Electric Proms ended that year). The stage was filmed in a pyrotechnic and broadcast in a special program format two days after the actual performance. This work was made into a DVD from that HD master. The quality is, of course, "fully official class". Not to mention the image quality and sound quality, it is impossible for a festival hosted by the world-renowned BBC to be shoddy, and the quality of the master and the filming technique are the highest peak of visual beauty that was possible in 2010. The perfect quality is depicted in a slightly unusual special program. This program is divided into two parts, the first half of which is the "concert edition," which shows the live stage in detail while being a digest of about an hour. The second half is the "making of the show," which details the backstage of the show itself. However, the "making of the show" is not just a documentary, but also includes performances that were not seen in the "concert edition." Here, let's focus on the songs performed and organize them. The Union (8 songs) Monkey Suit/When Love Is Dying/Gone To Shiloh/A Dream Come True/Hey Ahab/Jimmie Rodgers' Dream (*)/There's No Tomorrow (*)/Hearts Have Turned To Stone (*) Others (9 songs) Elton John: Burn Down the Mission/Tiny Dancer/I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues (with Plan B)/Sad Songs (Say So Much)/Your Song/The Bitch Is Back (★)/Ballad Of A Well Known Gun (*) Leon Russell: A Song For You/This Masquerade (★: with Rumer) *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that cannot be seen in the sister film "BEACON THEATRE 2010". The "*" mark indicates a song that appears in the documentary version in the second half. ...And so on. Although the number of songs is smaller than that of the sister work 2-disc "BEACON THEATRE 2010" released at the same time, this work also features "The Bitch Is Back" and "This Masquerade" that are unique to the London performance. In addition, local young singers such as Rumer, who has just debuted, and Plan B, who is featured in "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues", make guest appearances. The two also appear in the making edition, adding luster to the special performance. In terms of Elton John and Leon Russell's main road, "BEACON THEATRE 2010" is the absolute best, as you can enjoy all the songs of "THE UNION", but this work also has plenty of fun unique to the special edition. A chance to collect the symbolic professional shots of the UK and the US with the best master. A multi-camera professional shot of the "London performance on October 28, 2010". The first half is a "concert edition" that focuses on the live performance, and the second half is a "making of" edition of the show itself. The quality of the DVD made from the best existing HD master is "completely official grade". This special edition also includes guest appearances not included in the sister work "BEACON THEATRE 2010", as well as "The Bitch Is Back" and "This Masquerade".
