The Memphis performance, which is famous as “the pinnacle of WORKS TOUR 1977”, has been revived as a definitive edition with excavated professional shots! Included in this work is the "November 20, 1977 Menphil Performance". They have long been famous for their full soundboard, which is considered to be the highest quality in the history of ELP, and their coupling album with the Wheeling performance, ``DEFINITIVE WORKS LIVE 1977'', was also a big hit. This time, a treasured professional shot from the Memphis performance was unexpectedly discovered. It will be released together with the remastered stereo sound board. [Discs 1 and 2: Stereo Soundboard 2CD] This work, which contains all of the legendary Memphis performances, is a luxurious 3-disc pressing. Discs 1 and 2 include a 2-disc soundboard album, and disc 3 includes newly discovered professional shots. First of all, discs 1 and 2 are the same soundboard recordings as discs 3 and 4 of the masterpiece "DEFINITIVE WORKS LIVE 1977", which was released in 2014 and was said to be the super definitive record of the new era. Of course, it's not exactly the same, but this time it's newly remastered from the original source. At the time of "DEFINITIVE WORKS LIVE 1977", it was a top-class soundboard that was touted as having "top ultra-high sound quality", so even if it is the latest mastering, it cannot be said to be superior or inferior in terms of pure audio. This time we are aiming for an even more powerful modern sound. In fact, this Memphis performance was so official-like that three songs "Pictures At An Exhibition," "Pirates," and "Show Me The Way To Go Home" were included in the official album "A TIME AND A PLACE." , we aimed for the full-length version. Of course, we have achieved the power of an official work by using the very best lines that do not impair the naturalness of the original master. In terms of the wonderful “realistic appearance of the original sound”, “DEFINITIVE WORKS LIVE 1977” is the pinnacle, but this work has a sound that can be enjoyed alongside official works on a daily basis. [Disc 3: Pro shot DVD] Now, what is so shocking that even such a top-notch soundboard album is blurred is Disc 3, which contains newly discovered pro shots. This is a professional shot of the same Memphis performance that was broadcast on the famous BBC program "OLD GRAY WHISTLE TEST" in 1979. There's a reason why I wrote "Has" because it was known among core enthusiasts that it had been broadcast, but the footage never came out. Only one song, "Watching Over You", was selected for the official work "BEYOND THE BEGINNING" (the official credit is "1978", but it is wrong in 1977. There was no Memphis performance in 1978). , I didn't even know what the program was all about. This time, it was unearthed in what appears to be the entire program. Moreover, this is not an air check, but the former master of the broadcast where the time code is also engraved on the top left of the screen. Its quality is amazing. As expected, the generation is not as good as the official DVD "BEYOND THE BEGINNING", but there is no deterioration over time, no noise, and the colors are extremely vivid. The appearance of the three in 1977 clearly emerges. The performance scenes are of course multi-camera professional shots, and include four songs: "Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression, Pt. 2," "Watching Over You," "Tiger In The Spotlight," and "Show Me The Way To Go Home." There is also an interview scene, and in between, "Tank" and "Drum Solo" also appear. Until now, only the official version of "Watching Over You" was available, and the program, which had become a semi-urban legend, can be watched for about 21 minutes. "Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression, Pt. 2", which runs through with GX-1 and Hammond, and "Tiger In The Spotlight" and "Show Me The Way To Go Home", which were not seen on "WORKS ORCHESTRAL TOUR" ...I had no idea that such amazing footage actually survived. This is truly a historic excavation! Furthermore, Disc 3 includes two additional pro shots from the late 70's as a bonus. One is the three songs "Fanfare For The Common Man," "Tiger In A Spotlight," and "Show Me The Way To Go Home" when he appeared on the famous German program "ROCK POP," and the other is "TOP OF THE." ``All I Want Is You'' by ``POPS.'' All of these videos are already familiar, but the image quality is official quality that even surpasses "OLD GRAY WHISTLE TEST". Even though all of the songs are mime, I am captivated by Keith Emerson's fingertips, which dance as smoothly as if he were performing live. Particularly amazing is “Tiger In A Spotlight.” The performance was performed with a real tiger around, and at first the tiger was sleeping calmly, but around Keith's solo, it quickly stood up and went to the feet of Greg Lake. He's probably safe because he's chained up, but Greg is clearly scared, keeps glancing at the tiger during the performance, and backs away when the song ends. I can understand Greg's feelings, but it's a masterpiece video that has a 70's atmosphere even in such a reckless production. “WORKS TOUR 1977’s highest peak live” with polished classics and miraculous new discoveries. A 3-disc set that brings together a soundboard and professional shots that convey the truth that could only be touched on in part in the official work. Now here it is, magnificently completed!
