From the European tour accompanying ``Brain Salad Surgery'' in 1974, Austria on May 17th recorded the Vienna performance with a high-quality audience recording and appeared for the first time. Unfortunately, the second half of the last song "Pictures at an Exhibition" has not been released, but the first sound source, which is a 2 hour and 10 minute recording of high quality live performances from this period, is definitely a must-listen for fans. It coincides with the time when the official live album "Ladies & Gentlemen" was recorded, and the live arrangement and performance are similar in some places, but you can hear the development of Toccata's 4-5 minute percussion/synth arrangement. In particular, in the synth improvisational part of Aquatarkus, which lasts for nearly 15 minutes, there are plenty of unique melodies and developments unique to this period, which are completely different from "L&G", and you can enjoy a performance that is worth listening to. can. In Benny The Bouncer, which has not yet been recorded by “L & G”, you can listen to a more sophisticated performance than the previously released 1973 live sound source. Following Take A Pebble, which incorporates Still You Turn Me On and Lucky Man, you can enjoy 13 minutes of piano improvisation. Unlike Aquatarkus, this one progresses with almost the same structure and parts as the "L & G" take, so you can see that the official live take was recorded from this period. However, the 2-minute improvised part from the 7th minute shows a completely different approach, and from then on it shifts to a familiar rock'n'roll style, with a wonderful performance that seems to be an extension of the "L&G" version. It's a very enjoyable place to listen. Whether it's because of the tape change or because it's a completely different master on the same day, Karn Evil 9 is recorded with a different high-quality sound. The sound changes from a clear, narrow sound image to a sound with sound pressure. Karn Evil 9 has a solid arrangement, so today's performance is no more than a reproduction of the album, but compared to the 1973 version, the overall performance has a calm and well-controlled momentum, and it is perfect. You can enjoy the high-quality performance till the end. The encore "Pictures at an Exhibition" is recorded for 15 minutes, but it is characteristic of this period that it is a long performance that ends the tape in the middle of "Kiev Daimon". Emerson's frantic synth solo lasts for over 4 minutes. The first appearance of the sound source from the 1974 European tour, which can be enjoyed for 130 minutes with sufficiently high-quality sound, attracting attention from enthusiasts.
