Wow... this is so close. For a moment, I was almost fooled into thinking that it was not recorded by fans in the audience, but by someone involved in the recording from the wings of the stage. In particular, the closeness of Don Henley's drums and Don Felder's guitar sounds was particularly striking, which led to this illusion. However, between songs, the applause was picked up from the left and right in stereo with a good balance, so I was convinced that it was recorded normally from the audience. Even so, the fact that the sound was so close means that it was an audience recording made quite far forward on the stage and from Felder's side. I was overwhelmed by the closeness of the sound, which appeared on the Internet this time, from the Eagles' 1979 Japan tour performance at Expo Memorial Park in Osaka on September 22nd. Speaking of the 1979 visit to Japan, the famous recording "GONNA LAST FOREVER" at the Budokan has become a standard. Compared to that honor student audience, the texture is rough, and the hiss noise is noticeable between songs. The recording condition and closeness of the sound, which give the impression of ruggedness, are truly fascinating. However, when the recording was released, the pitch was too high and ruined its charm. Therefore, the pitch was adjusted firmly for this release. Now you can listen to it with peace of mind. Also, compared to "GONNA LAST FOREVER," the sense of realism is completely different, and there were some quiet scenes that made you think "Isn't it exciting?", but here, the cheerful excitement that is typical of Osaka is captured in a balanced manner without any unpleasantness, which is also attractive. Combined with this excitement, the Eagles' performance is also very peaceful. The relationship between Felder and Glenn Frey would continue to deteriorate the following year, but at this point, the members were still on stage in a friendly atmosphere because the sound is close. In a sense, it could be called a record of the last good period. In fact, towards the end of the live performance, the performance and excitement had a very happy atmosphere, and when Frey introduced Don Henley before the finale "The Best Of My Love," the audience literally called out "Don! Don!", which was very amusing. The following year, the Millard recordings of the Eagles' live performances during "THE LONG RUN" were also well received by the superb audiences of "SANTA MONICA 1980: MIKE MILLARD 1ST GENERATION CASSETTE" and "SANTA MONICA 1980 1ST NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES," but these were documents of the final days of the group. In that respect, the happy excitement of this Osaka performance and the vivid sound will undoubtedly be familiar to a new, excellent audience for "THE LONG RUN"-era live performances! : The Long Run Japan Tour (1979) September 17th, 18th, 19th, 25th, Tokyo Nippon Budokan September 21st, Nagoya Nagoya International Exhibition Hall September 22nd, Suita Osaka Banpaku Kinen Koen Festival Square Banpaku Kinen Koen, Osaka, Japan 22nd September 1979 PERFECT SOUND Disc:1 (55:08) 1.
