It has been a long time since the JEMS team released a mirrored master at the LA Forum in 1977, but the artist was Donovan, which was very surprising. The combination of him and Millard is not something that comes to mind, but that's not surprising, because he was the opening act for Yes's 1977 American tour, so he recorded it ``in passing.'' At this time, YES held two concerts at the LA Forum on September 23rd and 24th (the former was the day of the famous album "MIKES'S MINT", and we are also waiting for the master release of this one), but the mirrored benefited from recording on both days, and both Donovan's stages are also preserved. However, on the first day, all the songs were recorded with the opening cut-in, and on the second day, only half of the songs were recorded, and as I mentioned at the beginning, Millard recorded it as a warm-up for the recorder. Obvious. However, an anecdote that was revealed at the time of this release is that basically Millard rarely records the opening act of a concert, and it seems that it was the result of a decision to record Donovan. However, in terms of quality, his typical high quality explodes here as well. Even in the undercard, the sound image that is extremely on is truly a mirrored song. Almost no surrounding sounds are picked up, and the overall performance is so powerful that it overwhelms the listener. What's more, at the time, Donovan had just released a new album bearing his name in the summer, and he was playing a rock sound with his band that was conscious of the music world at the time, so it was even more interesting that he was recording with Millard. It was a good match. However, it is still the famous songs from the 1960s that the audience responds to. ``Sunshine Superman'' has a hard band arrangement that is conscious of the trends of the time, and it is easy to understand why ``Hurdy Gurdy Man'', which was a big hit in America, is the most exciting. Basically, it's a stage in front of an audience that is looking for Jesus, so even though they have just released a new album, it can't be helped that they get excited like nostalgic melodies. Still, from Donovan's point of view, just being able to perform at a large venue like the LA Forum is enough, and it's wonderful that he was having so much fun playing on both days. He was also on stage at a large venue called the LA Forum, and it was a valuable scene unique to this period that he dared to switch to an electric guitar and sing and play instead of an acoustic guitar, which was in line with his image up until then. Above all, Donovan's live recordings have long ceased to be released, and even more so when it comes to the 70s rather than his heyday in the 60s. As a result, Millard not only happened to capture his stage performance at a very valuable time, but also captured him in the late 70's, when the existence of the sound source itself was rare and his live activities were limited. However, it turned out to be a very significant excavation. Also, because it was the opening act and because they only recorded the middle of the second day, it is easy to hear that the performance time can fit comfortably on one CD. Moreover, the exceptional quality typical of Millard is still alive and well this time. A record of Donovan's extremely valuable live performance that will amaze enthusiasts around the world with the highest quality sound!
