Millard participated in a charity concert to raise funds for the organ transplant surgery of Dallas Taylor, the original drummer of CSN&Y (a kind of crowdfunding event). Until now, CSN&Y's stage had already been released in "SANTA MONICA 1990: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES", but this time Don Henley's stage has finally been unearthed. At this time, the same performers held different events over two days, and Henry's stage on the next day had already been released as "SANTA MONICA 1990 2ND NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES". That's why enthusiasts were eagerly waiting for his recording from the first day to be unearthed, but as was made clear by the CSN&Y release mentioned above, Millard on this day was recorded from a position further back than usual. However, the compatibility between the unplugged band style that Henry challenged at this event and the distance of this recording is excellent. The sound quality is very clear, with a sense of spaciousness and a large number of band members in the acoustic style that resonates very pleasantly. Moreover, Henry was at the peak of his solo career at the time, and the audience was enthusiastic to see Henry perform on stage with his acoustic band on the first day of the event. It almost seemed like he was going to eat the main act CSN&Y. The set list itself was the same as the next day, but as I mentioned at the time of "SANTA MONICA 1990 2ND NIGHT", the timing was that they had just finished recording "MTV UNPLUGGED". Therefore, even though it was the first day of the event, they performed a dignified stage. On the contrary, when it came to the finale "The Last Worthless Evening", Henry had half-jokingly forgotten the lyrics the next day, but here he sang with no such incidents. Rather, it was only at the peak that they performed a completely safe stage on the first day. In addition, the audience's reaction was even more enthusiastic than the next day, but of course it is a mirrored recording, so it is wonderful that it does not cause any stress to the listener (at all!). It is also nice to see them overjoyed when the Eagles classics are performed in such a situation. I think they were even more excited about "Best Of My Love" and "Desperado" than the next day. This time, the stage is about 40 minutes long, but it is an excellent audience album that captures the charm of Henry's confident acoustic stage during his solo days at the peak with the quality unique to Miller!
