This is a coupling recording of two special live performances held in late April before the release of his 2011 solo album "ALL OUT". During the hiatus of Purple, Don started working on his solo album, and this solo live performance was also a pre-promotion for the album. This time, the vocals were Carl Sentance, who has been singing in Don's band since 2006, Don's younger brother Keith Airey on guitar, and Alex Meadows, who has a career in JAMIROQUAI, on bass. Discs 1 & 2 are the performance in Rutesheim, Germany on April 23, and Discs 3 & 4 are the performance in Kerkrade, Netherlands on the following day, April 24. Both are complete recordings at soundboard level from the digital audience master. The set list was almost the same, starting with the opening of "Montagues and Capulets" of "Romeo and Juliet", followed by "Endless Night" and "Shooting Star" from Don's solo album "A LIGHT IN THE SKY", creating a spacey worldview that is characteristic of Don. The third song was "Child in Time", which quickly got the crowd excited, and Don's new song "People in Your Head" was a mid-number that showed Carl's singing and Keith's skillful guitar work in a heavy setting. After the "A LIGHT IN THE SKY" number, they moved on to a part dedicated to their old friends who have now passed away, with Jimi Hendrix's "Fire" in between. Cozy Powell's signature "Dance With The Devil", Gary Moore's "Sunset", and the instrumental arrangement of "Parisienne Walkways" were all very moving. The second half of the show started with "Difficult To Cure", followed by "All Night Long", "Lost In Hollywood", and "Since You Been Gone", and the encore featured the standard "Gimme Some Loving", but this time they included "Dazed And Confused" in the middle. The last song, "Black Night", further excited the audience, and the 110-minute live ended. The previous set list was a culmination of session work, but these two shows, which were balanced with solo songs, are must-listen items that will allow you to get to know Don better as a musician.
