Since their joint tour with LYNCH MOB in 2020, rumors of a reunion are getting more and more heated day by day. Here is a masterpiece video of the George Lynch co-starring show, which is at the forefront of that. This work was filmed at the St. Charles performance on March 25, 2022. This is a spectacular audience shot. Although the joint tour in 2020 was small-scale, they performed together every night in the encore, which made a big splash, but their activities were halted by the COVID-19 pandemic shortly after. Here, let's take a look at their schedule and check out their recent situation. 2021 June 5: Live United Live Music Festival appearance ・July 9-August 21: North America #1 (8 performances) ・September 24-December 18: North America #2 (16 performances) 2022 January 16: RokIsland Fest appearance ・March 25: St. Charles performance ←★This work★ ・April 23-May 28: North America #3 (6 performances) ・July 9 + 16 / September 17 + 30: North America #4 (4 performances) This is the currently announced schedule for 2021 / 2022. In terms of the number of experiences, it can not be said to be a full restart, and it seems that they are still feeling their way while watching the situation of the scene. The main event of this year is "North America #3" which will start soon, but this work was a warm-up show before that. In fact, the current relationship between DOKKEN and George is that "George is the opening act in areas where the locations overlap," and although he is not accompanying the tour, he has realized a few co-stars and has announced them in advance. In addition to this work, this year they are scheduled to perform together at the Manistee performance on April 23 and the Turlock performance on September 17. Anyway, this work, which vacuum-packed such a St. Charles performance, is a spectacular image of the "super close!" type. In the first place, images with few (or no) obstructions are called "spectacular views," but there are various types. Whether it is using the handrail of the stand as a tripod, looking down from the second floor seats, or for whatever reason, it is fine as long as there are no obstructions. In such a situation, this work is a spectacular view of the "front row = few customers in front". It is slightly to the left (closer to John Levin) and is probably in the 3rd or 4th row from the front, which is a very close position. The customers in the front have also moved, but there are few of them and they do not raise their arms, so it does not obstruct the view. The latest DOKKEN full show can be experienced with such a close view. George only participates in the three encore songs (plus jam), and Levin remains the main guitarist. Let's organize the set by album. Tooth and Nail (6 songs) Don't Close Your Eyes/Into The Fire/Just Got Lucky/Alone Again/When Heaven Comes Down (★)/Tooth and Nail (★) Others (7 songs + α) Breaking the Chains: Breaking The Chains Under Lock and Key: The Hunter/It's Not Love/In My Dreams Back for the Attack: Dream Warriors/Kiss Of Death (★) Others: Too High To Fly/Blues Jam (★) *Note: The "★" mark indicates songs featuring George Lynch, and includes two takes with and without subtitles. ... and so on. The balance is 10 songs by Levin and 3 songs by Lynch, but all the songs selected are from George's time. And the performance that spells out the set is... surprisingly good (sorry!). In recent years, Don's voice has been the default, and this work is not reminiscent of his heyday... but it's not. However, there is no sense of incongruity because he carefully follows the melody, and he can harmonize with the other members without forcing himself to sing high notes that he can't sing. If you listen closely, you can see that he uses a lot of fakes, but perhaps because he has become more experienced (wry smile), he produces low but natural melodies. His genius sense as a melody maker is still alive and well. And then, towards the end, George appears. As mentioned above, his position in this work is more to the right than the center. In other words, he is right in front of George! Since 2020, the collaboration has been fixed on "Kiss Of Death", "When Heaven Comes Down", and "Tooth And Nail", and the same is true tonight. And the performance... as expected of George, the sound is big (laughs). In the main part, the performance and vocals were balanced, but it collapsed all at once when George appeared. The razor guitar takes the lead role and Don is completely drowned out. If you try to discuss it seriously, it's not a musically praised story, but if you consider the significance and catharsis of George's appearance, this sound is perfect. You can enjoy a star-like guitar explosion that blows away the memory of Levin, who had been playing beautifully until then. In addition, this video basically displays subtitles such as song titles and (cameraman?) logos, but for the three songs (plus jams) performed with George, there are two types: with subtitles throughout the main part and without subtitles. Don and George today even say, "We're enjoying playing together more than we thought we would," and "We're talking about whether we should get back together." They often face each other during the performance, and they are in a good mood between songs. This is a spectacular work that allows you to experience such a good current situation from a special seat, "in front of George's eyes." This is a piece that allows you to get a glimpse of the dream time that may come again. A spectacular audience shot of the "St. Charles performance on March 25, 2022" where George Lynch performed as a guest. It was shot from a very close position, 3rd or 4th row slightly to the left, and when George appeared, it was right in front of me! A special seat. All 10 songs in John Levin's main set were masterpieces from the George era, and the three songs he performed with George, "Kiss Of Death," "When Heaven Comes Down," and "Tooth And Nail," and jams, featured unfading razor guitars. This is the latest video of a mini-reunion where you can't believe the good mood of frequently facing each other and intertwining with each other.
