They made a brilliant debut with "Sad Sultan" in 1978, and embarked on their first US tour the following year in 1979. This title is a compilation of precious live recordings from that early period. Disc 1 contains the performance at the Uptown Theater in Chicago on October 7th, recorded on a soundboard from the local FM on-air master. Although it is not complete because it is a broadcast recording, the second album "Communique" had already been released at this time, so be sure to check out the earliest live versions of "Once Upon A Time In The West", "Lady Writer", "Where Do You Think You're Going?" and "News" on the soundboard. In addition, discs 2 and 3 contain the performance at the Orpheus Theater in Boston on September 8th from the same US tour, which is a complete recording from the audience master, which was in good condition for the time. This is a recording that allows you to fully enjoy their performance from that time, including many numbers from ``Communiqué''.The combination of Mark Knopfler's Dylan-reminiscent vocals, the unique fingerpicking guitar playing, and the simple performance is exquisite, making this a record of their fresh early live performance that attracted attention at the time.
