Dexter Gordon, aka Dale Turner, is the name of the character Dexter who starred in the movie "Round Midnight". This is an official quality stereo soundboard recording of his live performance in Laren, Holland on July 18, 1973. Although the recording time is short at 37 minutes, it is worth noting that Gene Ammons joined the band as a double tenor, which is reminiscent of the live album "The Chase", which recorded a one-night session by the two at the North Park Hotel in Chicago in July 1970. Therefore, here too, the two engage in a heated tenor battle on "There Will Never Be Another You" and "The Blues Up And Down", and the performance is accompanied by the trio of Rob Agerbeek, a famous European jazz pianist, so this wonderful ensample is a must-listen item for fans of jazz. 1. There Will Never Be Another You (10:29) 2. The Shadow Of Your Smile (Dexter Gordon Solo) (05:52) 3. Lover Man (Gene Ammons Solo) (05:59) 4. The Blues Up And Down (10:53) [Live at De Boerenhofstee, Laren, Netherlands, July 18th 1973 : Stereo Soundboard Recording] Dexter Gordon - tenor saxophone / Gene Ammons - tenor saxophone / Rob Agerbeek - piano / Rob Langereis - bass / Eric Ineke – drums
