The ``Joe Satriani era DP'' was born due to the sudden departure of Ritchie Blackmore and disappeared without leaving any official works. The original master that allows you to fully experience the Japanese performance will be released. What is infused into this work is the “December 6, 1993: Nippon Budokan” performance. This is a real audience recording that vacuum-packs the whole story. Ritchie's departure was a major event in the history of Purple, and the addition of Satriani, who was the guitar hero of the time, was also shocking. At our store, we have archived many masterpieces of that precious Live in Japan. This work is different from any of them. This is also a good opportunity, so let's check the show positions while organizing the collection according to the dates at that time.December 2nd "NAGOYA 1993"December 3rd "THE BATTLE RAGES IN OSAKA"December 5th “THE BATTLE RAGES IN YOKOHAMA”・December 6th “BUDOKAN 1993: DAT MASTER” & ★This work★・December 7th “BUDOKAN 1993: DAT MASTER”・December 8th “BATTLE MACHINE (Yoyogi)” *Note :Only representative works each day. Above are all 6 performances. This is the first performance in Japan since joining Satriani, and the schedule starts in western Japan. With a hastily assembled ensemble, they headed east and held two performances at Nippon Budokan, the venue for "MADE IN JAPAN." What is recorded in this work is the concert on the first day. This work, recorded at such a scene, is a unique recording where luster and power compete. To be honest, it is not as good as the masterpieces normally released at our store, but that does not mean it is a bad recording. First of all, it's powerful. Perhaps because of the closeness of the "3rd row of the arena", there is no sparse feeling at all, and the density of the midrange and deep bass vibe are strong. The thumping bass drum is a power sound that shakes the five organs and kicks the six organs. And it's not just the power, it's the luster. To be honest, it's so powerful that the limiter kicks in at the peak of the hitting sound, but that's why it doesn't crack and you can comfortably surrender to the power. More specifically, since it was digitized directly from the original master, there are no dubbing traces, and the guitar and shouts that cut through the sound and arrive are very fresh. The call-and-response between Gillan and the large audience is so fresh that each person's singing voice can be distinguished, and the multilayered dynamism created by layering them is wonderful. What is depicted with such a sound is a full show of DEEP PUPRLE, which was revived with the addition of Satriani. The set is familiar, so I won't go into detail about it, but Satriani's skill in weaving it together is amazing. I was worried that since Steve Vai was the master of the song, he would use perverted phrases, but Satriani was an adult, so my fears were unfounded. He accurately reproduces all the basic phrases, and the craftsmanship is revealed in the slight "pauses" and nuances. The planning and timing of the push and pull was clearly refined over time. The true completion will be seen on the following European tour in 1994, but this work is a journey of evolution to get there, and the fresh joy of "I can do it even without Richie!" overflows from the speakers. It's an amazing performance. "Satriani PURPLE" has been reported on numerous masterpieces. It was a time when Ritchie was naturally full of charm that was different from Steve Morse. Although this work is not a representative work, it is a masterpiece that would be hard to remember if it was buried in the darkness of history.
