From DEEP PURPLE's 1991 European tour accompanying the release of ``SLAVES AND MASTERS,'' the March 1st performance in Stockholm, Sweden is a must-see release for fans, using high-quality audience shot masters. DEEP PURPLE, who welcomed Joe Lynn Turner as their new vocalist to replace Ian Gillan, began performing live in continental Europe from the end of January 1991 after the release of "SLAVES AND MASTERS". Approximately 20 performances were held on this tour, including the Brussels, Belgium performance on March 8th. The main focus was live performances in France and Germany, but a total of 4 performances were also performed in Northern Europe. This video records the live performance in Stockholm, Sweden on March 1st, the first day of Scandinavia, for about 80 minutes with excellent audience shots. The video is captured looking down on the stage from the second floor seat on the right hand side (Ritchie side) facing the stage. Immediately after the live performance begins, camera shake is noticeable and it is somewhat unstable, but from the middle of "Burn" the zoom is used effectively, allowing you to thoroughly enjoy the band's play. Also, for VTR material from over 20 years ago, it features a very clear screen and easy-to-listen sound quality, which will convince viewers of the master quality. The colors and outlines are especially clear, and you can clearly see the player's movements and stage lighting effects. The set list, which has changed significantly since the fifth period, is still attractive, such as the return of "Burn" which made fans happy, and "Black Night" which incorporates "Child In Time" into "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll". In addition to classic songs, new songs from "SLAVES AND MASTERS" are even more appealing at live performances. As you can see in "Fire In The Basement" and "The Cut Runs Deep," Joe is lively in both his singing and staging (he also shows off his guitar playing on "Love Conquers All" in the middle, so don't miss this too. not). Richie's guitar also plays wonderfully on "Truth Hurts" and "King Of Dreams", and you can enjoy the performance unique to the 6th PURPLE, which is different from the end of the Guillain era. Roger also shows off a wonderful bass solo in “Fire In The Basement”, which is a big highlight. The splendor of John's keyboard and Pace's drumming goes without saying, and the band's performance gains momentum as it becomes "Knocking At Your Back Door" and "Highway Star" in the latter half of the live show. The mastering of this video ended with "Highway Star", and unfortunately the encore "Smoke On The Water" is not included, but this film lasts for 80 minutes and gives viewers a certain sense of satisfaction. It will be given to you. The “SLAVES AND MASTERS” tour is a special tour not only for PURPLE fans but also for RAINBOW fans, as Richie and Joe played a full-fledged live performance together for the first time in seven years since RAINBOW in 1984. For that reason, if you are a fan, you can say that it is a live performance that you want to enjoy with the video more than the sound source.
