“SLAVES AND MASTERS WORLD TOUR 1991” has been ignored even by the official who is passionate about archives. Despite only being around 8 months out of Purple's 48-year history, a 2-disc masterpiece video set is now available that combines the early and final stages of the tour, which showed off its unparalleled individuality! This work includes one audience shot of "February 23, 1991 Wurzburg (Germany) performance" and "September 23, 1991 Poznań (Poland) performance" of "SLAVES AND MASTERS WORLD TOUR 1991". This is a 2-disc set containing each. Although both are neighboring countries in Europe, the timings are seven months apart, at the beginning and end of the tour. First, let's take a look at the overview of "SLAVES AND MASTERS WORLD TOUR 1991". ・February-March 1991: Europe #1 Tour (30 performances) ・April-May 1991: North America Tour (9 performances) ・June 1991: Japan & Asia Tour (6 performances) ・August 1991 Month: South America Tour (7 performances) September 1991: Europe #2 & Middle East Tour (7 performances) In this way, DEEP PURPLE toured the world in 8 months. Germany (February) included in this work is the “Europe #1 Tour” at the beginning, and Poland (September) is the “Europe #2 Tour”, and they are representative images of each period. The first thing that appears is the “September 23, 1991 Poznan performance”, which is in the final stage in reverse chronological order. This is the 56th performance of the World tour, which had a total of 59 performances, and it is the final stage. The reason why I chose this one first is because it is unaltered and boasts amazing quality. The shot was taken from the back seat in front of the stage, and the stability was outstanding. Perhaps because they were seated on the second floor, they were able to pass directly over the heads of the arena audience and enjoy a wide field of view that allowed them to see just the stage without any obstructions. Also, the master quality image quality with no noise and the sound with a direct feel are wonderful because there are no obstacles. On this day, only the audio has been excavated as “POLAND 1991”, but there is no comparison at all. And the show drawn with that quality is also wonderful. Joe Lynn Turner and the band, who have been on tour for eight months, are in perfect harmony. From this tour, the professional shots of Czechoslovakia and Hungary are famous, but those are the first and second days of the tour. I had the impression that they didn't quite fit together, but here in Poland, Joe is well suited to the spontinous mood. Also, the excitement of the audience is a must-see. Speaking of Poland, it was early on to be tolerant of rock even in the communist bloc, but this work takes place in 1991, just after the end of the Cold War. It was also a time when the winds of democratization were blowing, and the number of rock band concerts was increasing rapidly, and the enthusiasm that greeted DEEP PURPLE, who joined the band, was tremendous. Especially when it comes to the beauty of the writer's sea that unfolds in "Child In Time"... You can fully enjoy the mood of enjoying freedom that is unique to this era with 100% authentic sights and sounds. Disc 2 instead is the 15th performance of the tour, the early German "Wurzburg performance on February 23, 1991". You might think, ``It's not a big deal since I put it off until later,'' but that's not the case. Of course, Poland is too wonderful, but the shortcomings of this work are summarized in the beginning. The camera shakes violently at the beginning of "Burn". If you give up here, you won't be able to see the wonderful Poland, so I decided to move on to disc 2. However, the fluctuation becomes stable by the time Ritchie Blackmore's solo starts, which is important. From then on, the entire film is filled with masterpiece footage with plenty of zoom that exceeds that of Poland. Anyway, this zoom is delicious, and the angles that show the highlights of each member one after another are wonderful. There's so much zooming that it's hard to tell the shooting position (although it's definitely closer to Richie at the front of the stage). What's more, these seats also seemed to be on the second floor, so the field of view was straight over the heads of the arena audience. “DEEP PURPLE” continues to fill the entire screen. If you look at the still picture, it's such a wonderful zoom that it looks like a professional shot. The Joe era DEEP PURPLE spelled out with that quality is truly amazing. Since it was the early stage of the tour, I wasn't as familiar with it as I was in Poland, but perhaps the engine started on the 15th time, and there was a huge difference from the pro shots in Czechoslovakia and Hungary. For those who underestimate the Joe era with that professional shot, this is a performance you should definitely experience. DEEP PURPLE from Joe's era, and the video is extremely unfortunate. Not only is it completely ignored by the official, but the quality and performance of the essential professional shots are poor. If it is a live album, there are soundboards from various places and audience recordings from performances in Japan, but the images are difficult to obtain and misunderstandings are widespread. Under such circumstances, this work is a masterpiece video for two performances that accurately conveys the true value of the “Joe era”. “SLAVES AND MASTERS WORLD TOUR 1991” definitely left its mark on DEEP PURPLE history even though it was only 8 months old. Please take this opportunity to experience its true value.
