On January 23, 1976, New York completely recorded the second day performance at Radio City Music Hall with the best audience recording. This is an amazing master quality version of a completely different master from "New York 1976" which was released on the same day and the date is incorrectly stated as the 22nd. From Burn at the beginning, it is recorded with the highest sound quality as the fourth purple audience recording, and it will surprise enthusiasts. There is no cut of Lady Luck, which was cut in the previous release (the MC between songs is also recorded uncut). With Lady Luck, the bass tends to be a little boosted, but it gradually improves. On the other hand, the drums and organ are clear, so there is no unpleasant feeling. After the Lady Luck performance, David sings the standard "New York New York." Love Child is also recorded with a thick and wonderful sound. Glenn's powerful bass and vocals come alive in the funky 13-minute Gettin' Tighter. John's percussive organ handling is also wonderful, and he can handle funk numbers without any problems. After the song ends, Glenn seems to be trying to stop the fight in the venue, saying, ``Wait a minute. There's no violence.'' Following David's usual song introduction, Smoke On The Water allows you to enjoy a moving time with Georgia On My Mind sung by Glenn's wonderful vocals at the 6 minute mark. The tape change cut was made after the end of Smoke On The Water and has no effect on the song. Following John's classical solo, David and Glenn share the vocals in Lazy, and the backing team also fascinates the audience with more jam-like play. Tommy's solo involving slides in the 4 minute range is incredibly powerful. Following the drum solo, Homeward Strut from Tommy's solo "Teaser" will be played. This Time Around~Owed to 'G', where Glenn's vocals are so strong, is probably the peak of the concert. You can feel that even the troubled American audience was listening silently. Disc 2 starts with Tommy's 7 minute guitar solo. The straight rock medley of Drifter and the bass-heavy Stormbringer are also impressive. Tommy's flowing solo in Stormbringer is also worth listening to. The clarity of Pace's drums on Going Down is amazing. David's vocals on this song are reminiscent of later Whitesnake. Both the MC of “We need you!” and the powerful final Highway Star, David and Glenn’s luxurious twin vocals bring the show to a grand close. In order to record everything that was on the tape, no fade in and out processing was done intentionally. Although it is the beginning of the US tour, you can fully enjoy the outstanding performance that makes you feel a tight and cohesive groove that dispels the image of the Japan performance of the previous year.
