DEEP PURPLE started a hard rock revolution in 1970 with their eternal masterpiece "IN ROCK". The official video that has reigned as a symbol of this has been decided to be released. The symbolic video is “DOING THEIR THING”. This is a multi-camera professional shot taken at "Castlefield on July 14th". This video was broadcast as a special program on "GRANADA TV" and was commercialized as "DOING THEIR THING" in 1990. After that, it was used in history videos and released on DVD as part of ``MASTERS FROM THE VAULTS'' and ``LIVE IN STOCKHOLM 1970,'' and it has been loved as a major standard immediately after the transition to hard rock. This work is the first release version in 1990. The logo screen of “SUNCROWN” is also precisely digitized from the nostalgic Japanese laser disc. Before we get into the details, let's first talk about the position. Speaking of 1970, while in the midst of the hard rock revolution, he also produced ``GEMINI SUITE LIVE'' with an orchestra. It was also a time when the two worlds were barely intersecting. This is a good opportunity to look back on our progress.・January 5th - 10th: Europe #1 (3 performances) ・January 19th - June 2nd: Europe #2a (62 performances) [“IN ROCK” released on June 3rd] ・June 6th -21st: Europe #2b (12 performances) ・July 4th + 5th: UK (2 performances) ・July 10th + 11th: West Germany (2 performances) ← *Official LIVE IN AACHEN 1970 ・July 14th: Granada TV appearance ←★Coco★・July 31st: Newcastle performance・August 9th: Plumpton performance・August 15th-30th: North America (9 performances)・September 6th: Arras performance・September 17th Sun: London performance ← *Official GEMINI SUITE LIVE September 25th - December 12th: Europe #3 (47 performances) This is DEEP PURPLE in 1970. TV/radio appearances other than “GRANADA TV” have been omitted. It may seem like a bit of a mess, but there are two main tours: "Europe #2 (January-June)" and "Europe #3 (September-December)." Between July and September, there were sporadic stages, where the official works "LIVE IN AACHEN 1970" and "GEMINI SUITE LIVE" were also recorded. The appearance of this work on “GRANADA TV” is also part of such a July event. It was not a regular concert, but a studio live performance at a broadcasting station. The quality of recording such a special performance is (of course) completely official. The visual quality of a laser disc, which has a higher resolution than VHS and has no uneven running, is extremely stable, and because it is carefully selected from mint discs, it does not deteriorate over time. “MASTERS FROM THE VAULTS” had a mysterious structure that alternated with “BEAT CLUB”, but in this work you can thoroughly enjoy only “GRANADA TV”. And that performance is truly unparalleled. The band's potential, which has been about a month and a half since the release of "IN ROCK", is at its peak, and there has never been a better state in history. Ritchie Blackmore uses a Gibson ES-335 and a Stratocaster depending on the song and plays violently, which is intense, and Jon Lord's phrases and Ian Gillan's shouts that go head-to-head with him are also world records. The only selections from the album are ``Speed King'' and ``Child In Time,'' but the excitement of the performance is unmistakable: ``IN ROCK to see with your eyes'' and ``live version of the great masterpieces'' are the essence of intense hard rock. is. It's so definitive and historical that I'll leave it at that for a list of beautiful words. It's an absolute video that has no choice but to be seen, and you can't even say you haven't actually seen it. This is a piece that precisely brings out such visual beauty from the Japanese laser disc.
